Stop scape- goating Muslims – it’s war and racism that fuel division
Jack Straw’s attack on Muslim women wearing the veil was not an innocent attempt to “raise debate”. He was speaking in a climate of Islamophobia fuelled by the “war on terror”.
New Danish cartoons illustrate further decay of secular liberal societies
London, UK , October 10, 2006 – Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain strongly condemns the latest series of cartoons that mock the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The cartoons were drawn by activists of the Danish People’s Party and aired on Danish television. The emergence of these new cartoons once again illustrates the further decay of secular liberal societies; under Western “freedom” it is perfectly acceptable to insult and defame religious communities whether they are Muslims, Christians or Jews and religious beliefs have no sanctity.

Of Faux Democracy, Petty Tyrants, & Painful Realities
“The ideal tyranny is that which is ignorantly self-administered by its victims. The most perfect slaves are, therefore, those which blissfully and unawaredly enslave themselves.” —attributed to Dresden James
A caricature of a man who has wrought havoc in virtually every endeavor throughout his miserable existence has found his calling. Exuding false bravado and contrived machismo, he has swaggered his way into the deepest recesses of America’s collective psyche, fulfilling the inculcated need for a “manly” patriarch. Chest thumping, bullying, and ultimately unleashing the Hell of the Pentagon’s death machine upon those brazen enough to resist conversion to the American Way, King George IV has succeeded the tyrant American Revolutionaries toppled over 200 years ago.
Bush’s ‘Axis of Evil’ Comes Back to Haunt United States
Nearly five years after President Bush introduced the concept of an “axis of evil” comprising Iraq, Iran and North Korea, the administration has reached a crisis point with each nation: North Korea has claimed it conducted its first nuclear test, Iran refuses to halt its uranium-enrichment program, and Iraq appears to be tipping into a civil war 3 1/2 years after the U.S.-led invasion.
Everything this administration has donecince its inception has great harm not only to its own citizens, but to the rest of the world as well.
War Crimes Report Shows US Violations of International Law – Demands Prosecution of US Military and Civilian Leaders
The violence of the Iraq War, the chaos that has come to Iraq, can be traced directly to the illegality of the invasion and occupation of that country and the illegality of the tactics and weapons being used to maintain the occupation. Bush committed “one of the great diplomatic blunders of our time
Don Rumsfeld Bats Both Ways
The nuclear blast test that North Korea conducted this week is not only the result of the Bush Administration’s incompetent and sinister diplomatic philosophy – which seems to consist solely of provoking unfriendly regimes into countermeasures which can then be used as excuses for war-profiteering “regime change” assaults – but also stems from the overwhelming lust for loot that lies behind the noble rhetoric of the third-rate goons of the Bush Gang.
Elections in the USA: Justice And The Perversion of Justice
In a month in which the US Congress voted to legalize torture, discard the US Constitution by abolishing habeas corpus and increase the military budget to prolong the daily slaughter of hundreds of Iraqis and Afghanis, the big controversy among the mass media and elected officials is the sexual overtures of a Republican Congressman to adolescent boys employed by Congress.

Could Arar Blunder Happen Again?
TORONTO, Oct 10, 2006 (IPS) – Washington’s pre-emptive war, in which Muslims are picked up, labeled as Islamic terrorists and then sent to a foreign state where under torture they confess wrongly to membership in al Qaeda, is at the heart of what happened to an innocent Canadian citizen, Maher Arar, says Maureen Webb, an Ottawa lawyer and author of the forthcoming book, “Illusions of Security”.

However, the absence of any significant debris – including tailplane and wings – bewildered witnesses, relatives and, more importantly, some crash experts.
They found it hard to believe that an airliner up to 155ft long, with two engines each weighing more than six tons, could have penetrated the ground so completely as to utterly disappear. Had it, in reality, been blown to pieces in mid-air?
Certainly it is unclear how a single piece of fuselage the size of a dining room table could have been recovered from a marina in Indian Lake, a couple of miles away from the crash site – unless it fell from the sky during an aerial break-up.

Dispatch from the State of Delusion: exposing the myth of the American “mission” in Iraq
Bush’s only argument in favor of staying in Iraq is itself the most damning indictment of his utterly failed and catastrophic administration. That argument was put forward by former Secretary of State Jim Baker to George Stephanopoulus on ABC: pulling out now will plunge the middle east into chaos and Iraq into civil war. But Baker failed to state the obvious conclusion: staying in Iraq will accomplish the same thing but at greater cost.
