Last night I was reading the comments on the Angry Arab and I clicked on this link that someone posted there. It’s about sex tourism in Syria, about the girls (very, very young girls) who are forced to sell their bodies in Syria because of this disgusting war. All of the girls have a sad story, they have watched their families be slaughtered and are now forced to do what they must to take care of their children, siblings, sick parents, etc. (Isn’t liberation nice?)
When I first watched it I was completely outraged that there were so many men (very wealthy men) who were willing to exploit these young girls. There is one scene where a man is literally throwing money into the air–it was obscene, a wanton display of perverted arrogance. I was also pissed that Al Jazeera hasn’t done more to expose the men that are traveling to Syria on the weekends to have sex with these young girls. All of the Arabs I know are horrified by what is happening in Iraq, all of the Arabs I know think that what the Iraqi people are going through is a disgusting crime–so, I think that Al Jazeera should air something about the plight of these women in order to expose the perverted men that are traveling to other countries in order to get laid with child war refugees. I want those bastards to be shamed for what they are doing.
So, I got into a pretty heated conversation with someone last night about this video, he was incensed equally by the exploitation of these young girls and by the seemingly detached coverage by MSNBC in reporting about the whole sordid sex tourism story–I completely agree with him. It was as though reporter was saying, “wow, look at these horrible Arab men taking advantage of these young girls…” as if the fact that these young girls need to sell their bodies for money isn’t the fault of the criminal invasion of Iraq. And of course as if American men don’t travel all around the world to have sex with 12 year old Asian sex slaves.
So where is Laura Bush? Is she done liberating Afghani women yet? When will she speak out against what these poor Iraqi girls have to do in order to survive? When will Laura Bush apologize to these girls for the fact that the U.S.A has forced them into child prostitution? Does she think that she has sexually liberated these girls? Is she going to go to all the Arab (or Muslim) countries and liberate all the Arab and Muslim girls from their toys and hijabs so that they can travel to other countries and entertain Bush’s Saudi friends with forced child prostitution? Maybe Laura will hand select which girls are sent to Bandar Bush. Read more if you can stomach it.
