Oops, they did it again. They did it right in the middle of the road at high noon where the whole world could see every blemish on their big, fat, lying asses. Most of you would have to be at least as stupid as they think you are not to be made uncomfortable by such a poorly executed farce. This was overkill to the max. This was absurdity at a level never seen before and it will stand as compelling evidence of near smoking gun proof that the official version of what happened on 9/11 is a lie.

I realize that a lot of people are very upset right now. The internet is shooting sparks 40 miles high. Those suckered into an appearance on this spectacle are outraged and fuming like the smokestacks of the Industrial Revolution. However, that part of it is your own damn fault. Some of you were just looking for a little more celebrity out of this rich minefield of nitrogen. You know who you are. You’re the ones with the winking advertisements on your sites. You’re the ones who can’t miss a photo-op even if you have no control over the way you are going to be presented. You were hoping against hope even when you knew; YOU KNEW that they were going to go after you with dull axes and bad camera angles.

Too many of you are looking to make your careers on the back of this awful event. You figured that once you’d gained that greater celebrity that you will go on to do all kinds of good for the human race. Unfortunately you come off as the same kind of opportunists that you despise on the so-called ‘other side’. I want you to think about this and stop your howling like a stuck pig. It’s not as bad as it seems. In fact, if you’ll just cool your jets for a moment, I want to explain to you how this may well be the best thing that has happened so far.

Once you can step away from your sense of injury and wounded pride I want you to watch this program again. I want you to see that the extremes to which they went to make an indefensible point has now become one of the best weapons in your arsenal. This is living proof that they are scared and on the run. How could they have exposed themselves and their agenda in such a light? They’re as nervous as hens. Apparently people are listening to something other than the mainstream news. Apparently there is a revolution of complicit souls telling everyone they meet that the government and their corporate masters are lying sacks of a nitrogen rich substance. You should be overjoyed that they REALLY put their foot in it this time. I’ve got a feeling that, once you get over feeling bad, you are going to be very pleased.

They are on the run! Somewhere, at some point, most of the people in the country became aware that the government and the media are lying. They can’t undo this and when they put together such a disastrous and damning, unintentional satire as this they have really screwed the pooch and the pooch isn’t liking it one bit. People… this is a very good thing. They really should have known better but they did not. They have handed us the sort of thing every prosecutor and defense lawyer dreams of.

What? You’re saying, “sure, but millions of people saw this and we- the truth movement- do not have that kind of exposure…” Au contraire, if we didn’t have that kind of exposure they wouldn’t have felt forced into showing their hind end in such an embarrassing fashion. This may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and they put it there themselves.

I’m not a fan of Loose Change. I don’t find it near comprehensive enough. I wonder if its success isn’t partially based on that. There are much more concise and damning presentations about and this leads me to several possibilities.

Have you any idea what kind of a film can be made for $100,000.00? That amount of money is chump change and surely those of you with the bigger sites have got that kind of coin. From this History Channel hit piece you have all the material you need to sink them in the water. They have given you all you need if you will just look at what I am saying and then look at the film again. You could make a documentary based solely on this film and have devastating impact by merely dissecting their machinations; not to mention refuting the poorly contrived arguments. It’s not just the public who needs to wake up and smell the dead bodies in the road, it’s the 9/11 truthers who need to get a clue.

Such a film could be entered at every film festival and made available through the marvel of the internet to the whole wide world. Just once, let’s make something truly powerful and profound without being ballast ridden by minutiae. I’m not a film maker but even I could do this as a result of being organized and possessing common sense. It’s a slam dunk. Let’s not be pissed off. Let’s be grateful. They blew it. They shot themselves in the foot and photographed themselves propositioning the park ranger in the public restroom. We have the advantage. Listen to what I am saying.

Please put aside your opportunism and efforts at self-advancement. If fame is in your cards it will come. Fame gained for the purpose of fame turns into a negative gain. Let’s get canny and focused people. We have them on the run. They didn’t need to do this and they certainly didn’t need to do it this badly. So… think about it… why did they? Think.

The bad news is that they most certainly have to do something nasty now. They have to distract the world’s attention from what has become an avalanche of lies now rotting in the sun. My guess is that they are going to screw that up too. For the first time in a long time I get the feeling that the tide is turning. We have them on the run; Carpe Diem, people.

Trace the ownership of The History Channel and look at who is saying what and never mentioning the conflicts of interest and lay it out. Focus on the cherry-picking, creative editing and special effects and use your wit and clarity to nail them to the wall. Take the actual clips that they manipulated and SHOW THEM as they were in fact. There are thousands of us at work here. Some of us have large audiences. Some of us have smaller audiences. But when you put together the sum of our collective audiences, it is very large and world wide. They can’t stop us. We have the advantage and they handed it to us free of charge.

Everyone who got filmed with a mullet and taken out of context and dismissed with extreme prejudice should take heart this very hour. Millions are waiting to see what you are going to say and how you are going to handle this. Are these disinfo agents lying, murdering swine? Assuredly they are. Has their hour come round at last? It may well have. Mark my words; this is going to turn against them in spades. This is going to resound all over the world. They messed up. We have the advantage.

Go fix yourself a cup of coffee or crack a beer. Make your way out on to the deck, to the gazebo, over to the kitchen table or wherever it works for you and savor this moment. Put away your sense of injury and get frosty. Get gimlet-eyed and feel the delicious anticipation that precedes your opportunity to cut these fools to shreds. It’s in your hands now and the whole world is watching. We’re all counting on you to show us what you’re made of. This hatchet-job is a serendipitous gift. Make the best of it.

Dancing Israelis Filming 9/11 Attack: “Our Purpose Was to Document the Event.”

This is interesting in that the comments section seems loaded up with obvious Israeli shills trying to dismiss this.

But keep two things in mind. If ones purpose is to document an event,m one must have advance notice of what is about to happen.

Second, the video shot by these Israelis is among the evidence classified by the US Government. Reports persist that this video includes a shot of the first impact on the towers, which would prove that these Israelis, some of whom were identified as Mossad, had known the targets in advance. Absent that reported first impact on the tape, it is hard to imagine a reason for the tape to be classified by the US Government, given the otherwise saturation media coverage of any and all videos of that day.

Bush accused of twisting history over Iraq

Bush accused of twisting history over Iraq

Expert says disaster in Iraq consequence of US army going in country, not getting out.

By P. Parameswaran – WASHINGTON

First Published 2007-08-23, Last Updated 2007-08-23 11:04:07

The Vietnam analogy is cited differently via graffiti in Baghdad

Experts say that US President George W. Bush may be misrepresenting history when he drew a parallel between the bloody wars Americans fought in East Asia to the current US “war on terror” to back his case for maintaining US troops in Iraq.

The US leader on Wednesday likened the “terrorists” who wage war in Iraq to the communist forces in Korea and Vietnam and imperial Japanese army, and warned that a hasty Iraq withdrawal would trigger a bloodbath like the one in Southeast Asia after the US defeat and retreat from Vietnam.

Bush spoke ahead of a key September assessment of military strategy, and amid mounting calls from a war-weary public to pull US troops out of Iraq. More than 3,700 US troops have died in Iraq since the 2003 US-led invasion.

Bush especially argued that the rapid US pullout from Vietnam in 1973 was to blame for millions of deaths in that country and the rise of the murderous Khmer Rouge communist regime in neighboring Cambodia.

A similar catastrophe may befall the Middle East if the 162,000 US troops pull out from the war in Iraq, he warned.

“Three decades later, there is a legitimate debate about how we got into the Vietnam War and how we left,” Bush told a group of cheering American war veterans in Kansas City, Missouri.

“Whatever your position in that debate, one unmistakable legacy of Vietnam is that the price of America’s withdrawal was paid by millions of innocent citizens whose agonies would add to our vocabulary new terms like ‘boat people,’ ‘re-education camps’ and ‘killing fields.’”

More than half a million US troops fought for South Vietnam against the communist North during the peak of the war, which left more than 58,000 of them dead before Washington’s humiliating pullout.

“My understanding of the history of the Vietnam war and the lessons of that differs rather dramatically from Mr Bush’s,” Robert Hathaway, said an Asian expert at the Washington-based Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars.

Hathaway said that despite the eight-year US military involvement and its heavy casualties in Vietnam, Washington was still unable to create popular support in the south for a government that was widely considered to be corrupt and unpopular.

South Vietnam collapsed in 1975 not because American forces had withdrawn, but because the South Vietnamese and their army simply did not care enough about their government to fight in its defense, he said. The North Vietnamese simply walked almost unopposed into Saigon.

“So one of the lessons, at least for me, is the American tragedy in Vietnam is that military force by an outside power — a power that many people in Vietnam viewed as an occupying force — was not sufficient to create the political conditions for genuinely popular government in South Vietnam nor the political will to fight for that government,” Hathaway said.

“Another lesson of Vietnam is that combination of great power and good intentions is not necessarily sufficient for America to impose its will on others,” he added.

Retired US Brigadier General John Johns, an expert on counter-insurgency who served in Vietnam, said Bush was “cherry-picking” history to support his case for staying the course in Iraq.

“What I learned in Vietnam is that US forces could not conduct a counterinsurgency operation. The longer we stay there, the worse it’s going to get,” he said.

Steven Simon of the Washington-based Council on Foreign Relations, echoed the comments.

Bush “emphasized the violence in the wake of American withdrawal from Vietnam. But this happened because the United States left too late, not too early,” he said.

“It was the expansion of the war that opened the door to Pol Pot and the genocide of the Khmer Rouge. The longer you stay the worse it gets,” he said.

About 1.7 million Cambodians died during the Pol Pot-led Khmer Rouge’s reign of terror from 1975 to 1979.

Historian Robert Dallek, who had compared the wars in Iraq and Vietnam, accused Bush of twisting history.

“We were in Vietnam for 10 years. We dropped more bombs on Vietnam than we did in all of World War II in every theater. We lost 58,700 American lives, the second-greatest loss of lives in a foreign conflict. And we couldn’t work our will,” he told the Los Angeles Times.

“What is Bush suggesting? That we didn’t fight hard enough, stay long enough? That’s nonsense. It’s a distortion,” he continued.

“We’ve been in Iraq longer than we fought in World War II,” he said. The disaster in Iraq “is the consequence of going in, not getting out,” he added.

The Super Idiot Bush Distorting the Truth

The Super Idiot Bush Distorting the Truth

Arab News

23 August 2007

PRESIDENT Bush yesterday told US war veterans that if American troops were withdrawn from Iraq “before the job is done”, the country would experience the same collapse that followed when Washington abandoned its military intervention in Vietnam. He warned that as in Vietnam, many hundreds of thousands would die in the “killing fields”

The historic reference is at best another display of Bush’s ignorance and at worst a deliberate attempt to distort the truth. There were reprisal killings and political re-education after the South of the country fell to the victorious North Vietnamese Communists but there was no mass slaughter. The “killing fields” were in Cambodia where Pol Pot’s regime tried to impose its insane brand of proletarian government by massacring intellectuals and the middle class. The Khymer Rouge had emerged from the destabilizing interference of both the North Vietnamese who used Cambodia to keep their troops in the South supplied, and by a massive US bombing campaign which sought unsuccessfully to interdict this flow. What Bush did not go on to say presuming of course that he actually knew it was that it was the Vietnamese who finally freed the Cambodians from the misery by invading the country, overthrowing the Khymer Rouge lunatics and withdrawing their forces when the UN had organized elections.

Bush might have better, therefore, said that the Vietnamese had behaved in Cambodia much as the Americans had in Iraq. The difference between the two interventions is that traumatized Cambodia slowly returned to peace and normality. Iraqis, however, are still being traumatized.

There are however some genuine parallels between the US experiences in Vietnam and Iraq but Bush was loath to point them out. Both interventions were misjudged and based on an unrealistic faith in the absolute supremacy of America’s military might. In both cases, Washington did not understand the political and social complexities. They could only think in black and white, which produced a copious flow of red blood, American as well as Vietnamese and Iraqi. In both interventions, the idea of “winning hearts and minds” only occurred long after it was realized that US troops were not welcomed as liberators and had behaved with a brutality that alienated what little welcome there was.

And most tellingly, both Vietnam and Iraq have ended in humiliation for Washington and an exposure of the falsity of the grounds on which they justified their invasions. The world was told that if the Communists were not stopped in Vietnam, all Southeast Asia would succumb to their rule in what was called “The Domino Theory.” No such geopolitical collapse happened in the region in the wake of Hanoi’s victory. Indeed 30 years on, Vietnam though still burdened by Communist bureaucracy is slowly emerging as a free market economy. There will assuredly be chaos when American troops quit Iraq but it will be caused in significant part by Washington’s ill-informed and crass interference.

The real story of the so called “Shiite uprising” in 1991

The real story of the so called “Shiite uprising” in 1991

Roads to Iraq

najaf_saddma.jpg

August 23, 2007

What exactly happened in 1991? was it a real Shiite uprising? or the Iranian Revolution Guards tried to stage a coup in Iraq?

The exact details will remain different, all what we can do is: to compare the three different versions of the story and conclude the exact events.

The Official Story

Iraq’s archenemy Iran, directed their Revolutionary Guards [the US occupation forces in Iraq recently accused them of destabilising Iraq], the Iranian intelligence, and their agents in the Iraqi southern governorates in conjunction with the “mob”, aided by “troublemakers”, making advantage of resentment feelings, anger and sadness among the public after the withdrawal of the Iraqi army from Kuwait.

The “rebellions” set the country in a chaos, killings, looting, and burning public and official institutions. The government practiced its duty given to it by the constitution to protect and defend the country

The Unofficial Story

The spark of the so called revolution started [as the story goes] ignited when one of the Kuwait-returnees soldiers returnees fired from his rifle on a picture of President Saddam Hussein in the “Saad Square” in Basra, chanting slogans denouncing the “dictator” who “defeated ” the Iraqi army, soon he was joined by the public.

The rebels took over police stations and Ba’ath Party headquarters and then they were joined by thousands of people “insurgents”, some went to army camps and put their hands on what was in warehouses [weapons and arms], inviting other governorates to join the “revolution”.

Anger was then extended to other governorates such Nasiriyah, Amarah, Kut, Najaf, Karbala, Diwaniyah and Hilla and Diyala.
This version of the story claims, that Ali Hassan Al-majeed [Chemical Ali] used every weapon available against the rebellions and managed to kill tens of thousands of “innocent” people.

The Real Story

This video shows the real story as the people of South Iraq lived it, the treachery and betrayal, the people of Karbala say they saw the strange faces, unfamiliar in the city came and did sabotage, destruction, rape and murder.

You can see also traitors shouting:

(Rescue us, Oh Iran. Rescue us, Oh Iran)!

Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Wednesday, 22 August 2007

Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member, editorial board, the Free Arab Voice.

  • US admits one more of its occupation troops killed in combat in western Baghdad.
  • Puppet police commander gunned down in Tikrit Tuesday evening.
  • Truck bomber blasts new puppet police headquarters in Bayji, killing 11 puppet policemen.
  • Iraqi Resistance shoots down US helicopter north of Samarra’, killing 14 American troops Wednesday.
  • US aircraft blast farm in al-Mada’in area, killing farmer.
  • Shi‘i sectarian gunmen with puppet regime backing launch attack on Sunni mosque in al-Mahmudiyah Wednesday evening.

Baghdad.

US admits one more of its occupation troops killed in combat in western Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 9pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military admitted that one of its occupation soldiers had been killed and three more of them wounded in combat to the west of Baghdad on Wednesday.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the terse American announcement offered few details on the casualties, which came on the heels of the shooting down of a US helicopter earlier in the day in which 14 Americans were killed.

Salah ad-Din Province.
Bayji.

Truck bomber blasts new puppet police headquarters in Bayji, killing 11 puppet policemen.

In a dispatch posted at 1:56pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-packed fuel tanker into the headquarters of the puppet police in the city of Bayji, 200km north of Baghdad on Wednesday, killing 20 and wounding 40.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet police as saying that the attacker crashed into the main gate of the puppet police directorate in Bayji. Thamir Kawan, the director of Bayji Hospital told the press that the blast killed 11 puppet policemen and several civilians.

The puppet police had just recently moved into this headquarters following a similar truck bomb attack on their former headquarters building in June. That attack killed 13 puppet policemen and 14 civilians.

Samarra’.

Iraqi Resistance shoots down US helicopter north of Samarra’, killing 14 American troops.

In a dispatch posted at 12:39pm Baghdad time midday Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military admitted that 14 of its troops were killed when an American helicopter crashed in the area of Samarra’, 120km north of Baghdad on Wednesday.

The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance shot down the American aircraft just to the north of Samarra’ with their intensive gunfire. They said they saw the helicopter falling to earth in flames and judging from the way the crash looked they thought it likely that all those aboard had been killed.

After the crash, US forces surrounded the area where the burning vehicle also ignited grass fires that sent smoke billowing into the sky.

Tikrit.

Puppet police commander gunned down in Tikrit Tuesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 8:14am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had shot and killed the Director of Operations of the Command of the Salah ad-Din Province puppet police on Tuesday evening.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the provincial puppet police command as saying that armed men in a car opened fire on Colonel ‘Uthman Jayjan in front of his house in the al-Qadisiyah neighborhood of Tikrit, 180km north of Baghdad, killing him instantly.

Diyala Province.
Al-Miqdadiyah.

Bomber wearing explosive belt kills 16 civilians in al-Miqdadiyah market.

In a dispatch posted at 11:39pm Baghdad time Wednesday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that an individual wearing an explosive belt blew himself up in the middle of a crowd of local residents near the main market in al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad, Wednesday evening.

Aswat al-‘Iraq reported an eyewitness as saying that 16 civilians were killed and another 30 people wounded in the attack. Almost all the casualties were civilian, the witness said.

Al-Mada’in.

US aircraft blast farm in al-Mada’in area, killing farmer.

In a dispatch posted at 11:12am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US aircraft struck the farm of Hamid ‘Ali Rashid in the al-Mada’in area, 25km southeast of Baghdad, on Tuesday.

The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the farmer Hamid ‘Ali Rashid was killed in the American air raid.

Babil Province.
Al-Mahmudiyah.

Shi‘i sectarian gunmen with puppet regime backing launch attack on Sunni mosque in al-Mahmudiyah Wednesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 10:55pm Baghdad time Wednesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Shi‘i sectarian militias were at that hour attacking the ar-Rahman Mosque in the “17 Tammuz” area of al-Mahmudiyah, 25km south of Baghdad.

The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen arrived from the Baghdad districts of ash-Shu‘lah and ath-Thawrah (the latter dubbed “Madinat as-Sadr” since the US invasion) began massing for the attack Wednesday afternoon, coordinating their activities with the local Shi‘i sectarian militias that control al-Mahmudiyah under the auspices of the US occupation. Witnesses said that American-backed puppet army forces showed their support for the Shi‘i sectarian militias by facilitating their passage from inner Baghdad down to al-Mahmudiyah without stopping them at checkpoints.

It is those Shi‘i sectarian militias, rather, that set up checkpoints in al-Mahmudiyah and elsewhere, abducting and murdering people whose ID cards indicate that they are Sunni.

Forget about Iraq’s nookular bombs (which it didn’t have) or the atomic bombs Iran might want to build someday; Israel has them NOW and here is where they are being built.

Meanwhile, remember that there is an unexplained radiation hotspot at the Israeli embassy n New York City.

Fabricating Palestinian Public Opinion, the So-Called Pollster Ghassan Khatib

A Comment by Tony Sayegh, Palestinian Pundit

August 23, 2007

Whenever the Palestinian public opinion needs to be manipulated, and the real story spun, the puppet PA turns to so-called “independent” pollster Ghassan Khatib. His poll “results,” fabricated in advance to show increased support for Fatah and the Vichy “government” of Abbas and Fayyad and decreased support for Hamas, are trumpeted by the Zionist press as proof that their agent Abbas is making headway, that they are betting on the right “horse.” This article by AP and published by Haaretz and Ynet shows the results of the latest “poll.”

All of Khatib’s “polls” conform to this pattern and usually reach the same conclusions: Abbas and Fatah are popular and Hamas is being defeated. Say what?

The most infamous of Khatib’s polls was the one he supposedly conducted just days before the Palestinian Legislative Council elections in January 2006. In that “poll” he predicted that Fatah would win comfortably over Hamas. Was it just faulty polling, or simple spin and propaganda?

The man’s background suggests that he is no “independent” pollster. A review of some of the positions he held should make that clear:

* Palestinian Authority Minister of Planning
* Palestinian Authority Minister of Labor, 2002
* Involved in the Washington Negotiations, 1991-1993
* Member of the Palestinian delegation to the Madrid Peace process, 1991
* Palestinian People’s Party representative to the Palestinian Authority

Bitterlemons.org is a website that presents Israeli and Palestinian viewpoints on prominent issues of concern. It focuses on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and peace process. It is produced, edited and partially written by Ghassan Khatib, a Palestinian, and Yossi Alpher, an Israeli.

Bitterlemons.org maintains complete organizational and institutional symmetry between its Palestinian and Israeli components. It draws financial support from the European Union and additional philanthropic sources based outside the region.

Now you decide on this latest “poll.”

The Power of Israel in the United States

Stephen Lendman

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

James Petras is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Binghamton University, New York. He’s a noted academic figure on the US Left and a well-respected Latin American expert and longtime chronicler of the region’s popular struggles. He’s also an advisor to the landless workers in Brazil and the unemployed workers movement in Argentina. Along the way, he managed to find time to write many hundreds of articles and 62 books published in 29 languages including his latest one in which he discusses another vital world region he has extensive knowledge of and has written frequently about – the Middle East and specifically the state of Israel and its relations with its neighbors, the Palestinians and, most importantly and the subject of this book, the US.

Petras’ powerful new book is titled The Power of Israel in the United States. It’s a work of epic writing and essential reading documenting the enormous influence of the Jewish Lobby on US policy in the Middle East. It focuses like a laser to assure that policy conforms with Israel’s long-term goal for regional hegemony. The Lobby’s influence is broad and deep enough to include officials at the highest levels of government, the business community, academia, the clergy (especially the dominant Christian fundamentalists/Christian Zionists) and the mass media. Petras shows how together they’re able to assure the full and unconditional US support for all elements of Israel’s agenda going back decades even when that agenda harms our interests such as the unwinnable war in Iraq, any future one against Iran if it’s undertaken, and the appalling and brutal subjugation and colonization of the Palestinian people that serves no US interest whatever. In spite of it, the Lobby is able to get the US to go along with Israel unconditionally with no serious opposition to it tolerated.

Petras explains the root of the Lobby’s power lies in the high proportion of Jewish families who are among the wealthiest and most influential ones in the country. He cites Forbes magazine that reported 25 – 30% of the wealthiest families here are Jewish despite the small percentage of Jews in the population overall. They include billionaires with enormous influence, and along with all others comprising the Jewish Lobby, have created a “tyranny of Israel over the US” with consequences grave enough to threaten world peace and stability, the global economy, and the very future of democracy in this country.

That democracy and our constitutionally protected rights now hang by a thread after the recent passage of the Military Commissions Act (aka the “torture authorization act” or more accurately the “US Constitutional annulment act”) that makes everyone everywhere an “enemy combatant” subject to arrest and detention out of sight anywhere in the world without regard for our (no longer) constitutionally guaranteed rights. The new law also applies to US citizens as the Jose Padilla case showed. We’ve effectively lost our habeas and due process rights even though technically we still have them.

Because of the Lobby’s power, Petras reports, the US has unconditionally supported Israel’s wars of aggression since 1967. It’s influence also led to the US Gulf war in 1991 and the second Iraq war begun in 2003, now raging out of control and seen by some noted analysts as unwinnable and causing potential irreparable economic and political harm to the nation. Nonetheless, it persists with no plan agreed on to end it. The Lobby also guaranteed this country’s unconditional support for Israel’s illegal wars of aggression against Lebanon and Palestine with all the devastation they caused and the horrendous consequences from them unresolved. The Palestinian conflict still rages under the radar, and the status in Lebanon hangs by a hair trigger ready to erupt again any time Israel decides to resume hostilities. But inflaming the Middle East powder keg to a near boiling point is the strong possibility the US and/or Israel will attack Iran because Israel wants it and the Jewish Lobby put its powerful support behind it. More on this, Palestine and Lebanon below.

Today the situation in the Middle East is so dire, Petras reports a large majority of Europeans and a growing number of Americans believe Israel is the greatest of all threats to world peace and stability. Nonetheless, the Bush administration, in acquiescence to the Lobby, has “bludgeoned” its European partners to go along with its uncompromising support for the Jewish state despite all the obvious perils from it. In this country, open debate is stifled, public figures and academics daring to air one truthfully are pilloried, ridiculed, called anti-semitic and even threatened, and no serious dissent is ever tolerated in the corporate-run media or their funded and controlled so-called public radio or PBS parts of it.

No publication is more servile to, supportive of, or more influential than the nation’s so-called “paper of record” publishing “All the News That’s Fit to Print” – the New York Times. It’s important because the stories it features prominently resonate around the country and the world. This dominant newspaper pledges unconditional support and fealty to the state of Israel whatever it does. The rest of the major media go along unquestioningly putting out regular one-sided pro-Israel uber alles propaganda with no opposition voices allowed to represent other points of view. We call that a free press – but only for those who own one. The state of the corporate-controlled media in this country is now so pathetic that Reporters Sans Frontieres (Reporters without Borders – for press freedom) just ranked the US 53rd in the world in press freedom behind countries like Benin, Namibia, Jamaica, France and Bolivia.

James Petras is a courageous independent voice who bucks this disturbing trend and refuses to go along. He proves it in his powerful and carefully documented new book that gives no quarter countering the mendacity, deceit and danger of the Lobby, its acolytes and hangers-on, and the corrupted major media. In his introduction, he calls for a “counter-hegemonic movement” to free us from our destructive “Israeli entanglements.” It’s needed to begin rebuilding our democracy and freedoms that are somewhere between life support and the crematorium. This book, he says, is his modest effort toward that goal. Because of the important information in it, it’s considerably more than that. It needs widespread exposure so people will know about it. Hopefully this review will help arouse some of them to want to find out in more detail.

How Evil the Zionist, the Closed Friend of Christian : 1000 Christian refugees being kicked out of Israel

Offer to help Christian asylum seekers facing deportation from Israel

BEN LYNFIELD

A CHRISTIAN group has offered to relocate about 1,000 Christian Sudanese asylum seekers in Israel to the West to rescue them from planned expulsion to Egypt by the government.

Faced with a growing number of refugees and economic migrants crossing the border from Egypt, Israel has said it would allow 500 refugees from Darfur already inside Israel to remain in the country.

But it also made it clear that the southern Sudanese, who number twice as many, will be deported to Egypt. Human rights activists say they have previously faced racism and maltreatment in Egypt.

There are also fears Egypt will expel them onward to Sudan, where they would face life imprisonment or execution for entering Israel.

Charmaine Hedding, of the Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, a pro-Israel group representing churches worldwide, said churches in North America and elsewhere have agreed to welcome Sudanese Christians now in Israel. “Let us relocate these people; 1,000 people is manageable,” she said.

However, Mark Regev, of the Israeli foreign ministry, responded that it is Israel’s right to expel the Sudanese. “People who cross into Israel illegally can be sent back. That is part of international law,” he said.

Activists say Israel violated international law at the weekend by expelling about 50 Africans without hearings to determine if their lives were in danger or they faced persecution.
