Chicago, Illinois, USA – The People’s Collective of the International Criminal Court for Liberation Central filed genocide charges Monday against the President and Vice President of the United States of America, accusing them of masterminding attempts to wipe out the people of Iraq with a campaign of murder, rape and torture.
The filing marked the first time the people, not the elites and their puppet presidents and prime ministers have established a permanent, global war crimes court to counter the Kangaroo Court established in the Netherlands after WWII. The people have issued charges against the talking heads of state but Bush and Cheney are unlikely to be put on trial any time soon. The USA rejects the court’s jurisdiction, and senior US officials said the people were politically motivated to file the charges in an attempt to stop the murders, tortures, rapes and thefts of the US invasion and occupation.
Dr. June Terpstra asked a panel at the Liberation Central International Criminal Court to issue a Citizens arrest warrant for Bush and Cheney to prevent the deaths of millions of people forced from their homes in Iraq and still under attack from the puppet US government-backed militia.
“Genocide is a crime of intention — we don’t need to wait until another 2.5 million die,” she told The Alternative press. “The genocide is ongoing,” she added, saying systematic torture was a key element of the campaign.”
Terpstra is undeterred by concern that her indictment against Bush and Cheney might ignite another period of vengeance against the people, activists and educators. The Homegrown Fascism Bill currently pending in the US Senate indicates that was already on the agenda.
“We don’t have the luxury to look away. The evidence is overwhelming” Terpstra said in a statement after submitting her case to the people.
Victims cited by the alternative presses say killing, torture, thefts, rapes, and demolitions are woven into the fabric of life in Iraq .
“Maybe around 20 soldiers at every checkpoint abuse and detain men, women and children. These things are normal for us here in Iraq ” one woman said. “I have seen torture too. It does not matter who sees them — they don’t care.”
Terpstra says the depleted uranium used in US weapons has produced a generation of deformed babies both in Iraq and in the USA .
The head of the US Bar Association and ruling party told The Alternative Press that the USA was not a member of the International Criminal Court and was not bound by the people’s decision. He said no entity, group or person has the right to refer the US anywhere or anytime.
The Liberation Central Movement, a rebel group in the USA has offered to help arrest and extradite any war criminals from the US . If the people issue a citizen’s arrest warrant, they will effectively turn Bush and Cheney into prisoners in their own country. In the past, Interpol has issued so-called Red Notices for fugitives wanted by the Kangaroo court, meaning they should be arrested any time they attempt to cross an international border.
Terpstra said millions of ethnic and religious groups were driven from their homes by US forces since the first invasion of Iraq . Since then, the US military and mercenary occupation forces have been targeting the urban areas across the country aiming to starve refugees into other neighboring countries.
“Millions are starving and ill, the US forces do not need gas chambers because starvation and illness will kill them just like that which was done to the indigenous people of North America experienced under US occupation” Terpstra said.
The refugees “have no more water, no more food, and no more life. They have lost everything. They live because international humanitarian organizations are providing food for them,” she added.
An estimated 1-2 million people have died in Iraq since the US and UK took up arms against the Legitimate Iraqi government of Sadaam Hussein
Terpstra said all of the people of the world must now act.
“We are dealing with genocide. Is it easy to stop? No. Do we need to stop it once and for all? Yes,” she told Alternative Press.
“The international community and the people of the USA failed in the past, failed to stop Palestinian genocide, failed to stop Guatemalan, Iranian, El Salvadorian, Nicaraguan, Vietnamese, Chilean, Yugoslavian, and countless other invasions. The people of the USA failed Iraq time and again, she added.
Bush and the Republican Party on Sunday warned of “more violence and blood” in the Midwest region if an arrest warrant is issued against the president and Vice President, state TV reported.
There are also fears that the people’s case could spark a backlash against the strong Iraqi Resistance forces. A spokeswoman for the force said it will not suspend any military operations.
Human Rights Watch groups around the world welcomed the charges after years of passivity and stupidity on the part of the people in the USA .
“Charging President Bush and Vice President Cheney for the hideous crimes in Iraq finally shows that no one is above the law,” said Terpstra.
