The dust cover on the book introduced author Geraldine Brooks as “a native
of Australia and graduate of Sydney University and the Columbia University
Graduate School of Journalism” and “currently the Wall Street Journal’s
United Nations correspondent.”

Brooks’ 1995 book, Nine Parts of Desire, describes the author’s experiences
as a correspondent in the Muslim Middle East.

Among the challenges she describes is the difficulty she had checking into
a hotel as a single woman. Immediately, she blames a societal issue on
Islam: “I couldn’t check myself into a hotel room in the 1990s,” she
complained, “because thirteen hundred years earlier, a Meccan named
Muhammad had trouble with his wives.”

More Qadiyanis serve in the Israeli Armed Forces than Pakistan according to a book, ‘Israel: A Profile’, by a respected Jewish Professor I.T Naomi. He stated: ‘… and the Ahmadi sect of some 600 people from Pakistan can also serve in the (Israeli) army…’ To many analysts Qadiaynis are a political issue and have always been a security problem? In India Qadiyanis have collected and donated thousands to the Indian Army fund after Kargil.

On 15th February 1987, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Sahibzada Yakub Khan declared in the National Assembly that there were 328 Qadiyani officers of different ranks in the Pakistan Armed Forces. According to his report 1, Lt. General, 5 Brigadiers in the army and 1 similar rank in the Air Force = 6, Colonial 10 Army, 2 Navy, 3 Air Force= 15, Lt. Colonials 56 Army, 6 Navy, 11 Air Force = 73, Major 135 Army, 5 Navy, 16 Air Force = 156, Captain 58 Army, 5 Navy, 14 Air Force = 77,  Total 328.

07/10/08 “Antifascist” – – Ten months before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld approved an updated version of the U.S. Army’s secret operational Continuity of Government (COG) plans.

A draft document published by the whistleblowing website Wikileaks entitled, “Army Regulation 500-3, Emergency Employment of Army and Other Resources. Army Continuity of Operations (COOP) Program,” dated 19 January 2001, spells out changes in Army doctrine.

Yemen says arrests militants with links to Israel

SANAA, Oct 6 (Reuters) – Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Monday authorities had arrested a group of Islamic militants which he said had links to Israeli intelligence.

The group, which had contacts with the Jewish state “despite raising the slogan of Islam”, would be brought to trial, the official news agency Saba quoted Saleh as saying without giving further details.

Israel is considered an enemy by Islamist militants.
