*Liberalisasi menjadi jalan bagi penguasaan seluruh kekayaan alam Indonesia sekaligus menghadang Islam politik tampil memimpin negeri ini.*

Ada seorang perempuan Muslimah taat di Jakarta. Pakaiannya berupa gamis panjang sampai mata kaki dan longgar (jilbab). Kerudungnya pun panjang ke bawah dan lebar. Ibadahnya rajin. Siapa yang bertemu dia pada saat itu tentu akan mencitrakan dirinya sebagai seorang muslimah yang taat.

Namun, siapa sangka dalam beberapa waktu kemudian dia berubah 360 derajat. Awalnya dia mengubah gaya berpakaiannya menjadi modis. Mengenakan pakaian jeans dan baju ketat. Kerudungnya pun tak lagi panjang dan lebar. Lama-kelamaan ditanggalkan kerudungnya. Bajunya pun mulai memperlihatkan bagian-bagian tertentu tubuhnya. Siapapun yang melihat, pasti mencitrakannya bukan lagi sebagai Muslimah yang taat.

Setelah Perang Dunia II, penjajahan tidak lagi melalui fisik, tetapi melalui pemikiran, yaitu menyebarkan ide sekularisme dan liberalisme. Ide ini melandasi seluruh aspek kehidupan. Untuk mengokohkan penjajahannya maka ide tersebut dijadikan konvensi internasional. Melalui PBB, konvensi berhasil mengikat negara-negara anggota PBB. Konvensi yang dimaksud antara lain Konvensi PBB yang berkaitan dengan HAM dan tentang perempuan yang bertujuan memajukan perempuan; Konvensi Penghapusan Segala Bentuk Diskriminasi Terhadap Perempuan (CEDAW); Deklarasi Universal HAM (1948); Kovenan Internasional tentang hak-hak sipil dan politik (1966); Konferensi Internasional Kependudukan dan Pembangunan *(International Conference Population and Development ­ ICPD)* di Kairo tahun 1994 dan konferensi PBB tentang perempuan; Konvensi PBB tentang hak-hak politik perempuan yang telah diratifikasi dengan UU no. 68 tahun 1958 dan UU no. 39 tahun 1999 tentang Hak Asasi Manusia dengan bab khusus tentang hak-hak perempuan.

Pemikiran liberal (liberalisme) adalah satu nama di antara nama-nama untuk menyebut ideologi Dunia Barat yang berkembang sejak masa Reformasi Gereja dan Renaissans yang menandai berakhirnya Abad Pertengahan (abad V-XV). Disebut liberal, yang secara harfiah berarti “bebas dari batasan” (*free from restraint*), karena liberalisme menawarkan konsep kehidupan yang bebas dari pengawasan gereja dan raja. (Adams, 2004: 20). Ini berkebalikan total dengan kehidupan Barat Abad Pertengahan ketika gereja dan raja mendominasi seluruh segi kehidupan manusia.

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford “Human Rights Watch says ‘the world would be shocked’ at the devastation and the plight of Somalia’s people.” Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, has ceased to exist as a city. Inhabited by nearly three million people less than two years ago, and still home to more than a million nine months ago, Mogadishu has been virtually emptied of civilians. Whole sections have been leveled, according to the BBC, in what Human Rights Watch calls “the most ignored tragedy in the world” today. Egypt family attacked in sectarian dispute

CAIRO, Oct 7 (Reuters) – An Egyptian Christian man angry at his sister’s conversion to Islam and marriage to a Muslim broke into her Cairo apartment and sprayed gunfire on the family of three, killing the husband, security sources said on Tuesday.

They said the woman, Mariam Atef Khilla, and her baby daughter Nora had also been shot and were critically wounded in the overnight attack. Police were searching for the brother and an uncle.

Khilla converted to Islam three years ago to marry her husband against the wishes of her family, the sources said. One source said the woman’s brother had asked the couple to divorce so she could return to Christianity, but they had refused.

CONNECTING THE DOTS

The recent exposing of the insertion of 28 million copies of the movie “Obsession” into the delivery of daily U.S. newspapers prompted me to watch the movie. I had heard of it, but never watched it because, from the words of people who had seen it, the piece was considered a bigoted film that had no merit as a scholarly or historical work. Three days ago, I watched it and was not disappointed: it depicted all the same stereotypical anti-Muslim hatred that is in vogue today in the U.S. The main difference between Obsession and the Geert Wilders’ film Fitna is the length. Wilders only put 17 minutes on film, where Obsession extends the bigoted diatribe to about 60 minutes.

I will give only a few lowlights of the movie. The “historical” proof shown could have been written by Walt Disney. For one, we hear the commentator speaking of the “Arab media.” There was film of a crowd of angry Muslims chanting “Death to America.” However, most people would not look at the small lettering at the top depicting the origin of the piece: Iranian Television. Unless things have changed of which I am not aware, Iran is not an Arab country.

Then, a crowd burning a U.S. flag was shown, again with the commentator saying that jihadists were committing the act. But, the crowd held up posters of Saddam Hussein. The scene was from an anti-U.S. rally in Iraq prior to the March 2003 invasion. Hardly an act of “jihadists.”

1. Why a US embassy truckload of steel boxes was unloaded and shifted inside the Marriott Hotel on the same night when Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad? (two nights before this devastating explosion)

2. Why both the main gates (the entrance and the exit) of the hotel were closed while no one except the US Marines were either allowed to go near the truck or get the steel boxes unloaded or shift them inside the hotel.

3. Why these steel boxes were not passed through the scanners installed at the entrance of the hotel lobby and were reportedly shifted to the 4th and 5th floors of the Marriott? (Our PM Gillani was even asked to go through the security checks on US airport, even removing his shoes in the recent visit to US.)

4. Why the truck loaded with explosives T&T, RDX and explosives hit the barrier outside the Marriot Hotel where as the fire was seen on exactly the 4th and 5th floor with unusual intensity and flame color that could not be extinguished and later burned entire of the Hotel.
