The petition

The 50,000 Signatures Campaign for Zaidi

The campaign will proceed in demand of the release of the Iraqi Journalist, Muntather Al-Zaydi who hurled a pair of shoes at George Bush on 12/14/2008 in Baghdad in reaction to Bush’s immoral invasion of Iraq and the war-crimes committed by the occupying forces with the aid of local warlords.

We hereby sign below to demand the immediate release of the Journalist Montadhar Al-Zaydi, without any constraints or conditions. We also hold Al-Maliki’s government and the Bush administration accountable and responsible for his life, dignity, and well-being.

    Free Muntather Al-Zaidi

  9. Munthather al-Zaidi deserves some new medal of honor representing international acclaim for his great act.

He should be immediately freed so that his shoe-endorsement deal, talk-show appearances, book-signings, and dating actresses can begin.

Munthather al-Zaidi is now the focal point of the international civil-liberties campaign.

A man like Muntather Al Zaidi deserves the full support of all decent men of this world. His farewell to the moron who committed against the Iraqi people one of the biggest genocides of our times was an act of supreme bravery that will be remembered for many years to come.

I think they need to be greatfull we have troops over there, WE HAVE GIVEN THEM RIGHTS AND PROTECTED THERE PEOPLE. And this man threw shoes at our president, the presidnet of the United States of America. Anybody to sign this pettiotion is un american and is isrepecting the our leader. George Busch has kept terrorism out of our country since the attacks. I say this pettition is rediculus.

Free Muntathar Al Zaidi – as he has expressed what’s in the hearts of millions of people not limited just to Iraqis. This world has seen enough damage and terror because of Bush. Words and letters and speeches no longer send a message like the shoe Al Zaidi threw! If the Iraqi government claims they have introduced democracy, then let’s see it if they let Al Zaidy be released….

Its the natural response of Humanity mourning for decades in kashmir Palestine Afghanistan and now Iraq. Its just the beginning. One day this crushed world full say aloud those words said by Zaidi in his way of expression and by this I not only means muslims but whole humanity including Americans being crushed in the name of unknown fear.

My family cosists of four (Mum, 2 sisters, daughter) and myself from Australia, we very much believe that this brave Iraqi journalist has done exactly what anyone in his place would do, but unfortunately, he was the only one who has this courage amongst his colleagues that day. We want you free and safe.

  25. Joseph B. Smith said

The greatest event of 2008 was the election of Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States. The most significant act of 2008 was the throwing of the shoes at Bush by Muntadhar al-Zaidi. Misters Obama and al-Zaidi are heroes to me. There may be hope for humanity if brave people such as this are allowed to lead us. I’m a middle-aged white man in rural America who has felt only shame for what this country has done to so many innocents abroad. I can only hope the tide will begin to turn. I wish for Mr. al-Zaidi’s immediate release and health. I do wish there was more I could do for him. Rest assured I will carry on his message to the best of my ability.

  28. Roni Roeslan said

Al Maliki should be ashamed of sending Al Zaidi to prison. He traded Iraqi’s self esteem with Bush….Free Al Zaidi
