More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed since the offensive began three weeks ago, including three daughters of Dr. Izz el-Deen Aboul Aish, a gynaecologist who worked in one of Israel’s main hospitals before Gazans were effectively sealed off.

JERUSALEM – Israeli television broadcast desperate cries for help from a Palestinian doctor on Friday after his children were killed in an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip and troops later helped surviving members of the family.

The telephone calls created extraordinary scenes during evening news broadcasts as the doctor, a Hebrew-speaking physician who spoke regularly on Israeli television, said three of his children were killed in a tank strike and others were wounded.

“My girls were sitting at home planning their futures, talking, then suddenly they are being shelled,” he said in a voice shaking with emotion. “I want to know why they were killed, who gave the order?”

But surprisingly, no one has reported an even more appalling statistic: that there are some 1.5 million injured Palestinians in Gaza. How is is possible that such an astounding figure could have passed the world’s media by? The reason apparently is that they have been relying on the highly unreliable statistics provided by official Palestinian sources. It appears that the Palestinian health ministry only records as wounded those Gazans who need to stay in hospital because of the severity of their injuries.

“Ana raicha Al Qaeda” is colloquial for “I’m going to the toilet”. A very common and widespread use of the word “Al-Qaeda” in different Arab countries in the public language is for the toilet bowl. This name comes from the Arabic verb “Qa’ada” which mean “to sit”, pertinently, on the “Toilet Bowl”. In most Arabs homes there are two kinds of toilets: “Al-Qaeda” also called the “Hamam Franji” or foreign toilet, and “Hamam Arabi” or “Arab toilet” which is a hole in the ground. Lest we forget it, the potty used by small children is called “Ma Qa’adia” or “Little Qaeda”.So, if you were forming a terrorist group, would you call yourself, “The Toilet”?

An explosive device went off targeting a vehicle of the occupation forces from the U.S. Humvee in the Babil province today (Thursday).

وذكر مصدر امني حكومي ان عبوة ناسفة انفجرت اثناء مرور رتل امريكي في منطقة المشروع على خط المرور السريع (45 كم شمال الحلة) ما ادى الى احتراق العجلة. A security source said an explosive device at a passing U.S. convoy in the project area on the highway (45 km north of Hilla), which led to the burning of the wheel.

ولم يعرف بعد حجم الاصابات الناجمة عن الانفجار اذ فرضت قوات الاحتلال الامريكي طوقا حول المكان. It was not known the level of injuries from the explosion as the U.S. occupation forces imposed a cordon around the site.

Several Katyusha rockets launched this evening (Thursday) appears to target the so-called Green Zone in central Baghdad.

وذكر مراسل وكالة يقين في بغداد عن شهود عيان: ان عدد من صواريخ الكاتيوشا انطلقت مساء اليوم من منطقة الفضيلية شرق بغداد، وتم سماع دوي عدة انفجارات يتوقع ان تكون من داخل المنطقة الخضراء المحصنة امنيا. U.S. military Helicopter goes down in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – The U.S. military says one of its Black Hawk helicopters has gone down near Afghanistan’s capital.

No deaths were reported.

All seven people aboard survived and the military says in a statement that they are “safe and secure.”

The statement does not say what caused the accident, but does say that no enemy activity was involved.

The helicopter was on its way to perform a medical evacuation when it went down Friday morning.

The military says the incident is under investigation.

Two British soldiers were killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the British Ministry of Defense said on Thursday.

The two soldiers, one from 29 Command Regiment Royal Artillery and the other from 45 Commando Royal Marines were killed late on Wednesday during an operation against enemy forces in northeast of Gereshk in central Helmand, the ministry said in a statement.

Their relatives have been informed of the tragedy.

Their deaths brought the number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001 to 141. Currently, Britain has deployed about 8,000 troops in Afghanistan, with the majority in the south of the country.

The U.S. military said one soldier was wounded today (Friday) after a roadside bomb southeast of Baghdad.

A base under the U.S. forces occupied the town of Rawah in the Anbar province in western Iraq last night to heavy mortar shelling.

وقال شهود عيان لمراسل وكالة يقين: إن صافرات الإنذار قد أطلقت في أعقاب انهمار قذائف الهاون التي لم يعرف عددها بالتحديد على موقع القاعدة الأمريكية التي تطل على مدينة راوة. Witnesses said a correspondent for Agence sure: The warning sirens have been launched in the wake of heavy mortar shells, which is not known precisely at the U.S. base overlooking the town of Rawah.

وأضاف الشهود أن النار تصاعدت من سماء القاعدة في وقت سمعت أصوات المروحيات وهي تحلق بكثافة في القاعدة الأمريكية. Witnesses said the fire rose from the sky at the time of al-Qaeda heard helicopters flying intensity at the base.

ولم يعرف حجم الخسائر في صفوف قوات الاحتلال الامريكي إلا أن الشهود توقعوا أن الخسائر كبيرة نظراً للحال الذي كان عليه المحتلون، ولحركة الطيران الغير طبيعية في أعقاب الهجوم. وقال مصدر امني حكومي لمراسل وكالة يقين: إن الهجوم أسفر عن تدمير آلية للقوات الأميركية المحتلة، دون أن يحدد نوعها، ما أدى إلى إصابة ومقتل من كان بداخلها. A security source said a government agency and a correspondent for certain: that the attack resulted in the destruction of the occupying U.S. forces, without specifying the type, resulting in the injury and death from the inside.

يذكر أن عمليات استهداف القوات المحتلة أخذت بالتزايد في الآونة الأخيرة بشكل ملفت للنظر في مناطق غرب العراق خصوصاً على الطرق الخارجية التي تسلكها قوات الاحتلال، في محاولة من المقاومة على ما يبدو لتجنيب المدنيين خطر رد الفعل الأمريكي على عمليات إستهدافهم والذي غالباً ما يكون عشوائياً وانتقامياً ضد المدنيين. States that the occupying forces have been targeted in the recent increase dramatically for the consideration of Iraq’s western regions, especially on the roads used by the occupation forces, in an attempt of resistance, it seems to avoid the risk of civilian American reaction to the target, which is often random and reprisal against civilians.
