(WMR) — Israeli expansionists, their intentions to take full control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and permanently keep the Golan Heights of Syria and expand into southern Lebanon already well known, also have their eyes on parts of Iraq considered part of a biblical “Greater Israel.”

Israel reportedly has plans to relocate thousands of Kurdish Jews from Israel, including expatriates from Kurdish Iran, to the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Nineveh under the guise of religious pilgrimages to ancient Jewish religious shrines. According to Kurdish sources, the Israelis are secretly working with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to carry out the integration of Kurdish and other Jews into areas of Iraq under control of the KRG.

Kurdish, Iraqi Sunni Muslims, and Turkmen have noted that Kurdish Israelis began to buy land in Iraqi Kurdistan, after the U.S. invasion in 2003, that is considered historical Jewish “property.”

The Israelis are particularly interested in the shrine of the Jewish prophet Nahum in al Qush, the prophet Jonah in Mosul, and the tomb of the prophet Daniel in Kirkuk. Israelis are also trying to claim Jewish “properties” outside of the Kurdish region, including the shrine of Ezekiel in the village of al-Kifl in Babel Province near Najaf and the tomb of Ezra in al-Uzayr in Misan Province, near Basra, both in southern Iraq’s Shi’a-dominated territory. Israeli expansionists consider these shrines and tombs as much a part of “Greater Israel” as Jerusalem and the West Bank, which they call “Judea and Samaria.”

Kurdish and Iraqi sources report that Israel’s Mossad is working hand-in-hand with Israeli companies and “tourists” to stake a claim to the Jewish “properties” of Israel in Iraq. The Mossad has already been heavily involved in training the Kurdish Pesha Merga military forces.

Reportedly assisting the Israelis are foreign mercenaries paid for by U.S. Christian evangelical circles that support the concept of “Christian Zionism.”

A statue dedicated to the man who threw his shoes at President Bush has been erected in Tikrit, Saddam Hussein’s hometown.

Many Iraqis considered it poetic justice when a journalist tossed his shoes at President George W. Bush last month.

Now the bizarre attack has spawned a real life work of art.

A sofa-sized statue of the shoe was unveiled Thursday in Tikrit, the hometown of the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Baghdad-based artist Laith al-Amari described the fiberglass-and-copper work as a tribute to the pride of the Iraqi people.

The statue is inscribed with a poem honoring Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the Iraqi journalist who stunned the world when he whipped off his loafers and hurled them at Bush during a press conference on Dec. 14.

In the Arab world, even showing someone the sole of a shoe is considered a sign of disrespect.

Al-Zeidi was charged with assaulting a foreign leader, but his lawyer is asking prosecutors to reduce the charges. The trial has been delayed.

The shoe attack spawned a flood of Web quips, satire and even street rallies across the Arab world, where Bush is widely reviled for starting the war in Iraq and backing Israel against the Palestinians.

A Turkish shoemaking company also claimed its sales skyrocketed after some reports said it made the shoes that al-Zeidi tossed at Bush.

A monument to a shoe thrown at former President Bush is unveiled at the Tikrit Orphanage complex.

Bush was taken down a day after it was erected, local officials in Tikrit told CNN. Assisted by kids at the Tikrit Orphanage, sculptor Laith al-Amiri on Tuesday erected a huge brown replica of one of the shoes hurled at Bush last month by journalist Muntadhir al-Zaidi during a press conference in Baghdad. But officials from Salaheddin province told CNN that the monument was removed after a request from the central government, which has charges pending against al-Zaidi — now in an Iraqi jail. After the request was made, Iraqi police visited the location to make sure that the shoe monument was removed. “We will not allow anyone to use the government facilities and buildings for political motives,” said Abdullah Jabara, Salaheddin deputy governor. Al-Zaidi’s angry gesture touched a defiant nerve throughout the Arab and Muslim world. He is regarded by many people as a hero, and demonstrators last month took to the streets in the Arab world and called for his release. The shoe monument, made of fiberglass and coated with copper, consists of the shoe and a concrete base. The entire monument is 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) high. The shoe is 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) long and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) wide. The orphans helped al-Amiri build the $5,000 structure in 15 days, said Faten Abdulqader al-Naseri, the orphanage director. “Those orphans who helped the sculptor in building this monument were the victims of Bush’s war,” al-Naseri said. “The shoe monument is a gift to the next generation to remember the heroic action by the journalist.” Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi leader toppled by the United States in 2003, was from the Tikrit region. Al-Zaidi marked his 30th birthday in jail earlier this month. One of his brothers told CNN he “in good health and is being treated well.” Al-Zaidi’s employer, TV network al-Baghdadia, keeps a picture of him at the top left side of the screen with a calendar showing the number of days he has spent in detention. The network has been calling for his release. By tradition, throwing a shoe, is the most insulting act in the Arab world.

MADRID, Spain (CNN) — A Spanish court says it is investigating an alleged “crime against humanity” involving Israel for its 2002 bombing in Gaza that killed 15 people and wounded 150 others.

The case names former Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer and six other Israelis.

The case, brought by Palestinian relatives of some of the deceased, names former Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer and six other Israeli top military commanders and security officials at the time.

National Infrastructure Minister and former Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer and former IAF and IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz may face criminal charges in Spain for killing Palestinian civilians seven years ago. A Spanish court granted a petition by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights on Thursday, asking the two be investigated for alleged “crimes against humanity” for their involvement in the 2002 assassination of Hamas operative Salah Shehade. Fourteen civilians were killed in the incident and about 100 more were injured. Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter, former IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Yaalon, former GOC Southern Command Doron Almog, former National Security Council Head Giora Eiland and Brigadier-General (Res.) Mike Herzog have also been named as persons on interest in the case.

A Spanish judge has agreed to pursue a crimes against humanity complaint against seven senior Israeli military figures over a 2002 bombing in Gaza.

The complaint, which includes former defense minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer as one of its targets, was lodged with the Madrid-based judge Fernando Andreu by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, a judicial source said.

The judge has decided to set up two commissions, one of which would notify the Israeli authorities about the opening of the inquiry while another would seek witness testimony from Palestinians, the Spanish source said.

Andreu was acting in line with Spain’s assumption of the principle of universal jurisdiction in alleged cases of crimes against humanity, genocide, and terrorism.

Andreu said the attack in a densely-populated area “showed signs of constituting a crime against humanity,” the source said.

As US Envoy Presses for Peace, Olmert Rules Out Opening the Border

The Israeli military attacked what it described as a “weapons manufacturing facility” in Rafah today, and continued to strike tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border, in what it said was retaliation for an apparent Qassam launch by militants in the Gaza Strip.

The Qassam launch was likewise claimed to be in retaliation for Israeli attacks on Hamas targets, which were themselves claimed to be retaliation for a bombing by a group which was unrelated to Hamas. The authenticity of the attack was put somewhat in doubt by Israeli military officials saying they had not found the location which the rocket was supposed to have hit.

Visiting US envoy George Mitchell has urged both sides to continue the ceasefire, though Israel insisted that its assorted attacks did not constitute a violation of the ceasefire, and the military insisted Hamas was entirely to blame for every Israeli attack.

Mitchell also urged Israel to reopen the border crossings into Gaza, but was reportedly rebuffed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Olmert has said that the border will not reopen until Gilad Shalit, a soldier captured in 2006, is returned. Hamas has ruled out making such a deal.

Turkey’s prime minister has stormed off the stage at the World Economic Forum in Davos after a heated debate on Gaza with Israel’s president.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan clashed with Shimon Peres, whose voice had risen as he made an impassioned defence of Israel’s actions, jabbing his finger.

Mr Erdogan said Mr Peres had spoken so loudly to conceal his “guilt”.

He accused the moderator of not allowing him to speak and said he did not think he would return to Davos.

The Turkish PM stressed later that he had left the debate not because of his disagreements with Mr Peres but because he had been given much less time to speak than the Israeli leader.

Turkey is one of the few Muslim countries to have dealings with Israel, but relations have been under strain since the Islamist-rooted AK Party was elected to power in 2002.

Late on Thursday, a WEF official said that Mr Peres and Mr Erdogan had spoken by mobile telephone, and both men now considered the matter closed.

Also, genetics testing has demonstrated that the most direct descendants of the Biblical Hebrews of ancient times are today’s Palestinians. This is common sense. The Semites split into Arab and Jew with the split in Abraham’s house between Hagar/Ishmael on one side and Sarah/Israel on the other. This occurred too recently (in evolutionary terms) for random mutation to significantly change either group, and both groups discouraged intermarriage with other peoples until just a century ago, so in theory both groups should still resemble each other in stature, build, and skin tone.

Clearly, the Palestinians do look a great deal like their Arab brothers.

The Ashkenazi, equally clearly, do not.

Shortly after World War I, Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, assembled a staff of experts in Detroit to conduct research on the European Jews who had been entering America in large numbers since the 1880′s. Ford provided the staff with several million dollars for this research, and in 1923 he published the results in a four-volume work titled “THE INTERNATIONAL JEW.” It was Henry Ford’s conclusion that very few of these people who called themselves “Jews” were descendants of the Bible Israelites. Anyone opposing the increasing Jewish control of the nations was immediately branded “anti-Semitic;” and Jewish dominated Seminaries taught new ministers to quote Genesis 12:1-3 and sternly warn their flocks that anyone speaking unfavorably of the Jews would be “cursed by God.” Jewish control of American society, politics, and religions continued to increase.
