Ratusan Muslimah Iraq Diperkosa Tentara Amerika

Targeting Muslims in America

America’s War on Islam: The “Fort Dix Five” – by Stephen Lendman

With world eyes on Gaza, the horrific carnage on the ground, innocent civilians being slaughtered, Israel’s grievous crimes of war and against humanity, and its slow-motion genocide gaining speed, it’s easy to forget America’s war at home on Islam and its growing number of victims. This article highlights five recent ones – innocent young Muslim men called the “Fort Dix Five.”

On December 22, The New York Times headlined: “5 Are Convicted of Conspiring to Attack Fort Dix” in reporting that a federal jury “convicted five men of conspiring to kill American soldiers at (the base) last year, but acquitted them of attempted murder.”

After an eight-week trial, jurors deliberated for six days before returning a verdict. “The men, all Muslim immigrants (from) South Jersey or Philadelphia, face a maximum term of life in prison.”

The Facts about Israel’s War on Gaza

December 31, 2008

It is crucial that one has her/his facts straight about Israel’s war on Gaza. What events brought about this dreadful situation? What needs to be done to make it stop? These questions will be answered in the content of this article, using concrete facts from a variety of news sources.

Let’s first investigate the recent cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. The cease-fire began in June 2008. The terms were as follows:

  1. Israel would drastically reduce its military blockade of Gaza.
  2. Israel would halt all military incursions into Gaza.
  3. Hamas would halt all rocket attacks into Israel.

From the outset of the cease-fire, Israel did little to ease its military blockade. As a result, Gazans continued to suffer from a lack of food, fuel, financial aid, electricity, clean water, medical supplies, and more. This has been, inarguably, an attack on innocent Palestinian civilians.  Read the rest of this entry »

Re: Gross Human Rights Violations and War Crimes in the Gaza Strip

The UN Human Rights Council must urge the
General Assembly to act under Resolution 377

Dear Member State of the UN Human Rights Council,

Representing the Palestinian human rights community, we write to you with an urgent request for intervention by the UN Human Rights Council to put an end to the war crimes and crimes against humanity being committed in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) as a result of the Israeli occupying forces’ ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip. At least 310 persons, including 37 children, have been killed and over 1000 Palestinians have been injured. The civilian population of the occupied Gaza Strip will inevitably continue to suffer heavy losses without the external intervention of the international community; this is confirmed by Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak’s assertion that this is a “war to the bitter end.”

Worldwide movement protests U.S.-Israeli massacre in Gaza

Bulletin: Next U.S. protests: Jan 3 in New York and Boston

Dec. 31—The genocidal U.S.-backed Israeli bombardment of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip has had at least one unintended consequence. It has mobilized the anti-imperialist movement and other anti-war forces around the world.

The Washington-Tel-Aviv axis might not yet see this as an obstacle to their war crimes. But it is a work in progress, coming as the workers’ movements are beginning to get in motion to fight the repercussions of the capitalist economic collapse. Now they are fighting to prevent the massacre associated with what appears to be a planned ground assault into Gaza.

In 2006, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon had other unintended consequences.

Even in parts of the world where winter holidays often drain the strength of a social movement, people reacted quickly, angrily and in some places massively to oppose the new Israeli assault.

Groups all over the world made strikingly similar calls for action. There was complete solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza, a besieged and occupied population that has every right to resist. Most saw the Israeli state as the direct criminal, the local gendarme acting as an appendage of world imperialism—particularly U.S. imperialism but also that of the European Union.

The immediate demands were to stop the Israeli attacks; lift the blockade of Gaza; and for the government involved to break relations with or stop aiding the Zionist state. Protests in some mostly Arab countries—Egypt, for example—also targeted the country’s regime for collaborating with the U.S. and Israel. Disrupting the stability of the collaborating Arab regimes could be another unwanted consequence of the U.S.-Israeli assault.

Muhammadiyah Divided on Israel Ties

JAKARTA — Muhammadiyah, Indonesia’s second biggest Muslim organization, is divided on a cooperation agreement with Israeli organizations, with opponents rejecting to any relation with a regime oppressing the Palestinian people.“I believe most of us are very sad,” Fadli Arsil, coordinator of the Foreign Affairs Youth Muhammadiyah, told IslamOnline.net.

Last October, the Muhammadiyah-run Indonesian Rescue and Emergency Organization signed a US$200,000 medical cooperation agreement with Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service organization.

A delegation led by Dr. Sudibyo Markus, Muhammadiyah’s deputy chairman, and Prof. Aryono Pusponegoro, the health advisor, visited Tel Aviv to sign the agreement.

“This is a good first step between both countries,” Sudibyo told IOL.

“It gives the people of Indonesia a glimpse of Israel’s medical expertise.”

Muhammadiyah is the oldest and second largest Islamic social welfare organization in the world.

Established in 1912 by scholar Ahmad Dahlan, it now operates dozens of clinics, hospitals, orphanages, schools and universities across Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country.

It’s cooperation agreement with Israel has irked many of the group’s over 28 million members and is risking a rift within its ranks.

“If it is a real policy of the central board then I am thinking of going out from Muhammadiyah,” Fadli warned.
