Stalin’s Jews

We mustn’t forget that some of greatest murderers of modern times were Jewish

Published: 12.21.06, 23:35 / Israel Opinion
Here’s a particularly forlorn historical date: Almost 90 years ago, between the 19th and 20th of December 1917, in the midst of the Bolshevik revolution and civil war, Lenin signed a decree calling for the establishment of The All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution and Sabotage, also known as Cheka.Within a short period of time, Cheka became the largest and cruelest state security organization. Its organizational structure was changed every few years, as were its names: From Cheka to GPU, later to NKVD, and later to KGB.

We cannot know with certainty the number of deaths Cheka was responsible for in its various manifestations, but the number is surely at least 20 million, including victims of the forced collectivization, the hunger, large purges, expulsions, banishments, executions, and mass death at Gulags.

Whole population strata were eliminated: Independent farmers, ethnic minorities, members of the bourgeoisie, senior officers, intellectuals, artists, labor movement activists, “opposition members” who were defined completely randomly, and countless members of the Communist party itself.

The never mentioned Syria – Qatar – Turkey peace initiative

By: roadstoiraq.com on: 08.01.2009 [15:20 ]

Another humiliation for the so called “moderate” Arabs in the Security Council, with Al-Arabiya reported in advance that the Security Council will never pass the Arab initiative.

Strange that news reports never mentioned the Turkey – Syria -Qatar peace initiative:

Assad said yesterday that if the situation in Gaza stays as it is, then an Arab Summit with those who attend exclude Saudi Arabia and Egypt a must be, which is similar to the position of Emir of Qatar.

The Old Testament and the genocide in Gaza

An insight into Israeli identity

By Gilad Atzmon

9 January 2009

On 8 January, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) accused the Israeli armed forces of failing to fulfil their duty to help wounded civilians in an incident in Gaza City that it described as “shocking”.

The ICRC said that its staff had found four weak and scared children beside their mothers’ bodies in houses hit by Israeli shelling in Zeitoun, just a few metres from Israeli army positions.

“The ICRC believes that in this instance the Israeli military failed to meet its obligation under international humanitarian law to care for and evacuate the wounded,” it said.

On the same day, the United Nations aid agency in the Gaza Strip suspended its operations following a series of Israeli attacks on its personnel and buildings.

MIDEAST: Israel May Face Charges for War Crimes

Mel Frykberg

RAMALLAH, Jan 7 (IPS) – Israel has committed war crimes and should be prosecuted in an international court, says Raji Sourani, head of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) in Gaza.

“The repeated bombing of clearly marked civilian buildings, where civilians were sheltering, crosses several red lines in regard to international law,” Sourani told IPS.

Palestinian Authority (PA) delegate to Britain Professor Manuel Hassassian has said the PA will launch legal proceedings against Israeli leaders it says are responsible for war crimes in Gaza, according to a Palestinian news report.

Another 22 Palestinians were killed Wednesday morning in bombing and shelling as Israel’s Operation Cast Lead entered day 11. The dead included four people killed in the shelling of a children’s playground near a mosque in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of Gaza city.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Tiny bodies lying side by side wrapped in white burial shrouds. The cherubic face of a dead preschooler sticking up from the rubble of her home. A man cradling a wounded boy in a chaotic emergency room after Israel shelled a U.N. school.

Children, who make up more than half of crowded Gaza’s 1.4 million people, are the most defenseless victims of the war between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli army has unleashed unprecedented force in its campaign against Hamas militants, who have been taking cover among civilians.

A photo of 4-year-old Kaukab Al Dayah, just her bloodied head sticking out from the rubble of her home, covered many front pages in the Arab world Wednesday. “This is Israel,” read the headline in the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm. The preschooler was killed early Tuesday when an F-16 attacked her family’s four-story home in Gaza City. Four adults also died.

I have got three calls from anonymous persons stop blogging or I would be killed. Yet, I would keep on this track. Some of you dowonder how I send news in such conditions. I really suffer a lot to send you this update due to lack of power. I go around 4 kilometers a day in this cruel war where I charge my laptop battery to be able to send this work! This is very risky since shells rain down and drones hover over me! I will keep this up.

An Israeli army officer has been killed and a soldier wounded by Hamas as the Israeli offensive into Gaza enters its 13th day.

The Israeli army officer from Kfir Infantry Brigade was killed Thursday after Hamas fighters hit a tank with an anti-tank missile while on patrol in the former Neztarim settlement, the Israeli daily Haaretz reported.

This is reportedly the first time that Hamas uses anti-tank missiles since Tel Aviv kicked off Operation Cast Lead.

According to Israeli officials, the latest death brings the Israeli military casualties to at least seven.

Hamas, however, has put at 27 the number of Israelis killed since Tel Aviv launched its ground incursion into the populated region on Saturday.

The military intensified attacks on the territory late Wednesday, striking at least 60 Hamas targets across the region over the night.

According to Palestinian sources more than 20 air strikes hit around Gaza City before dawn Thursday.

Earlier in the day, three Palestinian fighters from the Islamic Jihad were killed and two others were wounded in one of the air raids.

The 13-day-old military campaign has so far claimed more than 710 Gazan lives and has left at least 3,100 others wounded. According to Palestinian medics, most of the victims are women and children.

Red Cross slams Israel over access to wounded

AP

Thursday, 8 January 2009

The international Red Cross accuses Israeli forces today of failing to assist wounded Palestinians and of “unacceptable” delays in letting rescue workers reach a Gaza home where four small children were found alive next to their mothers’ bodies.

Rescuers had been refused permission by the Israeli army to reach the site in the Zaytun neighborhood of Gaza City for days, the International Committee of the Red Cross said.

The neutral aid group’s head of delegation for the region described the incident as “shocking.”

“The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded,” Pierre Wettach said in a statement. “Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded.”

Rescuers eventually received permission to go to the site Wednesday, four days after it was hit by Israeli shells.

They found 15 dead and 18 wounded in three houses, including the children who were too weak to stand.

The ICRC said requests to be allowed to reach other destroyed houses in this neighborhood, reportedly containing more wounded, were refused by the Israeli army.

Gaza: The media coverage

Gaza: The media coverage

Written by Yvonne Ridley

Thursday, 08 January 2009
The media coverage of the war in Gaza by Western television companies is largely unfair and biased because of a refusal to show viewers the real images of the victims. One of the reasons for this is Israel’s decision not to allow the Western media in to Gaza.

In addition to this outrageous censorship by a so-called democracy, we get the usual arguments that most of the images shown by the Arab media are too shocking to show the viewing public in the West.

Admittedly, the horrific clip sent to me of a child’s head lying detached, among debris in Gaza did make me gasp.

But this is war and this is real and if the Western media did show these sort of images may be the general public would wake up to the full horrors of what happens when bombs are dropped on civilian populations.

There is no such reticence in th e Arab media which is why more people with satellites are switching on to television from the Middle East to watch the unfolding genocide in Gaza.

Alternative Views #483,484-THE MAFIA, THE CIA AND GEORGE BUSH (PARTS I&II) (1992)

483. THE MAFIA, THE CIA AND GEORGE BUSH (PART I)

Former reporter for the “Houston Chronicle,” Pete Brewton tells of one of the most momentous stories of the past 50 years and how it has been suppressed by the establishment media and the Congress. Pete’s book “The Mafia, CIA and George Bush,” shows the incredible complexity of the relationships in the
operation of the destruction of hundreds of Savings and Loans at the hands of the CIA and the Mafia, stealing many billions of dollars in the process, and
leaving the taxpayers to bailout the banks. Big names at the state and national levels of power are involved, including Lloyd Bentsen, the Bush family, and power brokers in Houston. People such as Kenneth Keating and Don Dixon, who are mentioned prominently in the press in connection with the S & L debacle, were merely front men or “cutouts” for the main movers. Keating and his ilk only took millions; the CIA and the Mafia looted billions.4

Baghdad – Explosions struck several army patrols on Thursday in different parts of Iraq, killing nine soldiers and injuring another six, said police sources.
