Magic Thermite and the 9/11 Fairytale

Well… there it is in black and white and irrefutable; all three colors complementing truth. This won’t make much difference to those who have gone to such great lengths to deny the truth in the first place. The first place they deny the truth is within themselves and then they are kind enough to extend that courtesy to everyone else; lucky us.

But there it is, scientific proof from the Scholars for 9/11 Truth. This is a clarion call for the weasels and dissimulators to see what kind of lies and obfuscations they can manifest in the face of manifest truth. It’s time for the bombastic, red-faced martini addicts to rail against one more terror organization. This one appears to be terrorizing their ignorance but… it’s not just ignorance, it’s blind support of domestic terror in the service of personal gain and aggrandizement. It’s time for another chorus of the Shitshiller’s Serenade; time for another lullaby of death.

Spain investigates what America should: War Criminal

Monday, April 6, 2009

A Spanish court has initiated criminal proceedings against six former officials of the Bush administration. John Yoo, Jay Bybee, David Addington, Alberto Gonzales, William Haynes and Douglas Feith may face charges in Spain for authorizing torture at Guantánamo Bay.

If arrest warrants are issued, Spain and any of the other 24 countries that are parties to European extradition conventions could arrest these six men when they travel abroad.

Does Spain have the authority to prosecute Americans for crimes that didn’t take place on Spanish soil?

The answer is yes. It’s called “universal jurisdiction.” Universal jurisdiction is a well-established theory that countries, including the United States, have used for many years to investigate and prosecute foreign nationals for crimes that shock the conscience of the global community. It provides a critical legal tool to hold accountable those who commit crimes against the law of nations, including war crimes and crimes against humanity. Without universal jurisdiction, many of the most notorious criminals would go free. Countries that have used this as a basis to prosecute the most serious of crimes should be commended for their courage. They help to create a just world in which we all seek to live.

Israel used universal jurisdiction to prosecute, convict and execute Adolph Eichmann for his crimes during the Holocaust, even they had no direct relationship with Israel.

A federal court in Miami recently convicted Chuckie Taylor, son of the former Liberian president, of torture that occurred in Liberia. A U.S. court sentenced Taylor to 97 years in prison in January.

Universal jurisdiction complements, but doesn’t supersede, national prosecutions. So if the United States were investigating the Bush officials, other countries would refrain from doing so.

When the United States ratified the Convention Against Torture, it promised to extradite or prosecute those who commit, or are complicit in, the commission of torture.

Olmert may face criminal charges

JERUSALEM: Israel’s attorney-general put former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on notice on Sunday he was weighing criminal charges against him over suspected corruption during a 2003-2006 term as industry and trade minister.

Olmert is suspected of having granted favours to clients of his former law partner while serving in the cabinet post. He has denied any wrongdoing in the case, one of several police investigations against him. Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz said he was considering charging Olmert with fraud and breach of trust, pending a hearing with his lawyers, the Justice Ministry announced. Olmert was replaced as prime minister on Tuesday by right-winger Benjamin Netanyahu.

The former Israeli leader may also face indictment over allegations he submitted duplicate travel bills and inflated travel costs while serving as Jerusalem mayor from 1993 to 2003, and over suspicions he took bribes from a US businessman. Olmert has denied the allegations. Olmert, then leader of the centrist Kadima party, resigned as prime minister in September, saying he intended to wage a legal battle to clear his name. He remained in office through a Feb. 10 election and stepped down when Netanyahu’s new right-leaning government was sworn in.

Other corruption probes into Olmert’s purchase of a house and alleged misconduct in the sale of an Israeli commercial bank were recently closed for lack of evidence. “As in past affairs that the state comptroller initiated that began with sparks and fireworks … this affair will end with nothing,” Olmert adviser Amir Dan told Israel Radio. reuters

423 Palestinian Children Still Held by Israel

With the recent genocide in Gaza, we must not forget the Israeli Human Rights Violations that have gone on for years and continue today.

I thought it important for people to remember the children that are still alive yet being held in Israeli prisons, many un-charged. We Irish call this internment and understand it quite well having gone through the same. The report below came out today, however for a window into the world of these Israeli human rights abuses, I have also posted a wonderful account of this from “dissident voice” after the story below. A moving story about a Palestinian girl intent on getting her education, despite Israeli aggression towards her and her family. A must read, but first this:

Israel holds 423 Palestinian children: report

GAZA, April 6 (Xinhua) — Israel still holds 423 Palestinian children aged under 18, the Palestinian Center for Defending Prisoners said on Monday.

“The children stay in very difficult circumstances in the Israeli jails,” the center said in a report, adding the Israeli jailers “put them under psychological pressure and some jailers molested some of the children.”

The prison authorities places eight to ten children in one room of four meter square, the report added.

According to the center, “231 of the children were sentenced while 182 are still waiting their trial. Ten children are subject to administrative detention without any charge.”

In 2006, Islamic Hamas movement captured an Israeli soldier in a cross-border raid near the Gaza Strip and demanded to exchange him for a number of Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas still holds the Israeli soldier and Egyptian-mediated talks to achieve a swap collided with Hamas’ insistence to select the names of the first 450 prisoners and Israel’s rejection.

In addition to the 450, Hamas stresses that Israel must also free all the children, women, old prisoners and leaders of the Palestinian groups.

US Envoy Writes of Israeli Threats

By Barbara Crossette

March 31, 2009

In the wake of the accusation by Chas Freeman that his nomination to lead the National Intelligence Council was derailed by an “Israeli lobby,” a forthcoming memoir by another distinguished ambassador adds stunning new charges to the debate. The ambassador, John Gunther Dean, writes that over the years he not only came under pressure from pro-Israeli groups and officials in Washington but also was the target of an Israeli-inspired assassination attempt in 1980 in Lebanon, where he had opened links to the Palestine Liberation Organizati

Dean’s suspicions that Israeli agents may have also been involved in the mysterious plane crash in 1988 that killed Pakistan’s president, General Mohammed Zia ul Haq, led finally to a decision in Washington to declare him mentally unfit, which forced his resignation from the foreign service after a thirty-year career. After he left public service, he was rehabilitated by the State Department, given a distinguished service medal and eventually encouraged to write his memoirs. Now 82, Dean sees the subsequent positive attention he has received as proof that the insanity charge (he calls it Stalinist) was phony, a supposition later confirmed by a former head of the department’s medical service.
