“Sebagai lembaga akademik, kendati IAIN terbatas memberikan pendidikan Islam kepada mahasiswanya, tetapi Islam yang diajarkan adalah Islam yang liberal. IAIN tidak mengajarkan fanatisme mazhab atau tokoh Islam, melainkan mengkaji semua mazhab dan tokoh Islam tersebut dengan kerangka, perspektif dan metodologi modern. Untuk menunjang itu, mahasiswa IAIN pun diajak mengkaji agama-agama lain selain Islam secara fair, terbuka, dan tanpa prasangka. Ilmu perbandingan agama menjadi mata kuliah pokok mahasiswa IAIN.”

“Jika di pesantren mereka memahami dikotomi ilmu: Ilmu Islam (naqliyah dan ilmu keagamaan) dan ilmu umum (sekuler dan duniawiah), maka di IAIN merekadisadarkan bahwa hal itu tidak ada. Di IAIN mereka bisa memahami bahwa belajar sosiologi, antropologi, sejarah, psikologi, sama pentingnya dengan belajar ilmu Tafsir al-Quran. Tetapi, IAIN tidak mengajarkan apa yang sering disebut dengan “islamisasi ilmu pengetahuan” sebab semua ilmu yang ada di dunia ini itu sama status dan arti pentingnya bagi kehidupan manusia.”

They are Islamophobe for no reason other than their sheer stupidity. Their country’s GDP depends on foreign students from Asia and so if the Muslims stop going there then they will understand that it is they who need the Muslims, not the other way around!

A decade-long national study has found that nearly 50 per cent of Australians identify themselves as having anti-Muslim attitudes.

Researchers from universities across the country polled thousands of people about their attitudes to different cultures and whether they had experienced racism.

The research found around one in 10 Australians identified themselves as prejudiced against other cultures.

About one-quarter of those surveyed said they had anti-Semitic or anti-Asian attitudes, while a slightly larger number were prejudiced against Aborigines.

Anti-Muslim sentiment was even higher, at 48.6 per cent.

Middle Eastern Terrorists Are Not Islamic Fundamentalists

The recent rally by Christians in Lebanon in favor of Hizbullah demonstrates that Arabs are Arab first and Muslim or Christian second. Use of such terms as Militant Islam, Islamic Fascism and Jihadi Terrorists depicts not only misconception but also offends Muslims all over the world.

Middle Eastern terrorists are not Islamic fundamentalist but fundamentalist of freedom struggle. They are an exclusive group that regards the Israel, US and its Allies as usurpers and enemy. Those in Muslim world who are not terrorists – especially the Middle Eastern Muslim and Christian Arabs also view the Israel and its supporters with some antipathy.  Al-Qaeda is opposed to the USA and their Allies in particular, not the west in general.  Western countries that do not interfere with Islamic countries and their interests are not targeted with terrorist attacks.

Since they don’t have missiles, artillery brigades, tanks and air force, they use gorillas and suicide bombers. William Blum in his book defines a Terrorist as: “A person who has the bomb but does not have the air force.”

Is Wahabism Really Exist As Gratuitous Accusations By West and Their Puppet?

This is a letter that Dr. Idris sent to The Washington Post in response to the Article “Spreading Saudi Fundamentalism,” where Dr. Idris’ name was mentioned.. The letter was delivered to the Post by hand and via e-mail. The Washington Post did not publish his response.

Susan Schmidt’s report, (Spreading Saudi Fundamentalism), Thursday, October 4, 2003, is an example of writings about Islam that Muslims find very disturbing. They wonder what good does it serve the national interest of the United States to distort the facts about Muslim individuals, organizations, beliefs and positions, to see organizational links where none in fact exist, and to present all their honest activities as a threat to America?
