Israeli War Criminals in Jenin & Lebanon

Kawther Salam

Jan 29, 2009

The right place for the war criminals is jail. Leaving war criminals free is a big threat against the  security of the international society, and they are a grave danger to their own societies. The International lebanon_aCriminal Court was established to deal with exactly these criminals. Let us work together to bring these criminals to justice. Let us work together to push the International Criminal Court to fulfill it’s duties and to play an active roll in ridding the planet of this grave kind of criminality.

Here are some more names of Israeli soldiers who participated in war crimes during “Operation Defensive Shield”  from April 3 to 21 of 2002 in Jenin. The former OC Central Command, Maj-Gen. Yitzhak Eitan gave awards to these criminals for their war crimes and crimes against humanity in Jenin, which left large sectors of the Palestinian population of that city homeless, and where about 500 were massacred by the IOF. These Israeli war criminals received an appreciation medal from their regional commander for the crimes which they committed.
Colonel Fuad Halhal, the IOF officer in Jenin during during “Operation Defensive Shield”, a former Military officer in Hebron, a druze.

My terror as a human shield: The story of Majdi Abed Rabbo

My terror as a human shield: The story of Majdi Abed Rabbo

As battle raged in Gaza, Israeli soldiers forced Majdi Abed Rabbo to risk his life as a go-between in the hunt for three Hamas fighters. This is his story…

By Donald Macintyre in Jabalya, Gaza
Friday, 30 January 2009

Majdi Abed Raboh's house is in ruins following Israeli attacks

Majdi Abed Raboh’s house is in ruins following Israeli attacks

After yet another fierce, 45-minute gun battle, Majdi Abed Rabbo was ordered once again to negotiate his perilous way across the already badly-damaged roof of his house, through the jagged gap in the wall and slowly down the stairs towards the first-floor apartment in the rubble-strewn house next door. Not knowing if the men were dead or alive, he shouted for the second time that day: “I’m Majdi. Don’t be afraid.”

All three men – with Kalashnikov AK-47 rifles, wearing camouflage and headbands bearing the insignia of the Izzedine el Qassam brigades – were still alive, though one was badly injured and persuaded Mr Abed Rabbo to tighten the improvised bandage round his right arm. The youngest – perhaps 21 – was taking cover behind fallen masonry from where he could see the Israeli troops who had sent the visitor. Nervously, Mr Abed Rabbo told them: “They sent me back so I can take your weapons. They told me you are dead.” It was the youngest who replied defiantly: “Tell the officer, ‘If you’re a man come up here’.”

When the soldiers had arrived at about 10am, Mr Abed Rabbo, 40, had no inkling that over the next 24 hours he would make four heart-stopping trips, shuttling across increasingly dangerous terrain between the Israeli forces and the three besieged but determined Hamas militants who had become his unwelcome next-door neighbours. He would recall every detail of an episode which, in the telling, resembles the more melodramatic kind of war movie, but which was all too real for a man who by the end had lost his house and thought (wrongly) that his wife and children were dead. He had also witnessed at too close quarters the last stand of the men from the Qassam brigades in the face of relentless Israeli ground attacks and Apache helicopter fire.

AP can’t stop lying for Israel

AP can’t stop lying for Israel

DetainThis

January 29, 2009

Here is just a sample of the latest pack of lies about Israel’s enemies published these last few days by “the world’s largest and most trusted source of independent news and information.”

Here’s a lie you will see in every AP report about Israel’s invasion and carpet-bombing of Gaza — a supremely criminal aggression which was meant to terrorize the population and help remove the democratically-elected government of Hamas from power:

Israel launched its 22-day offensive to try to halt Hamas rocket fire on southern Israel.

(“Israel vows to back soldiers accused of war crimes,” 1∙25∙9)

And here’s a lie straight out of the Hasbara Handbook, on Israeli war criminal Ariel Sharon, who was found “personally responsible” for the massacre of 700–3,500 unarmed men, women, and children in the Palestinian refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon in 1982:

Israeli leaders have faced similar concerns in the past. In 2001, then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was sued in Belgium over his alleged [confirmed, not “alleged”] role in a 1982 massacre in Lebanon’s Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. He was never convicted [but was found “personally responsible” by an Israeli investigative commission because he gave the IDF and the SLA free reign to enter the camps, knowing what would likely ensue].

Turkey & Israel: Friends and allies

Turkey & Israel: Friends and allies

By Elif Aydýn

Anomalous isn’t it that the one Muslim country that has strong and cordial ties with Israel has been the one to speak out most vociferously against the latter’s heinous assaults on Gaza?

It has surprised Turks themselves that among Muslim majority countries observing the horrors, it has been Turkey that has been foremost in its utter condemnation of Israel’s conduct. The Chairman of the Turkish Assembly’s Foreign Relations Committee, Murat Mercan, quit the assembly’s Turkish-Israel Friendship Group in protest at the latter’s actions in Gaza.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Ali Babacan, accused governments and international organisations of recklessly and irresponsibly engaging in a ‘wait and see’ politics. He criticised these same governments and international organisations for drawing distinctive reactions to events in Georgia and those in Gaza.

The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoðan, spoke of Israel’s actions as constituting “a crime against humanity” which would be judged by history. And facing calls at home, similar to elsewhere, to break off diplomatic ties with Israel and at the very least to expel the Israeli Ambassador from Turkey, he replied, in his characteristic vernacular style “We are running the Turkish Republic, not a grocery store.”

Indeed, which is why he dispatched his Foreign Minister and Chief Foreign Policy Adviser, Prof Ahmet Davutoðlu, to Cairo to lend Turkey’s support to the Franco-Egyptian sponsored ceasefire negotiations.

Reuters – Protesters carrying Turkish flags shout slogans as they wait for the arrival of Turkey’s Prime Minister …

ISTANBUL (Reuters) – Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was given a hero’s welcome on his return to Istanbul on Friday after accusing Israel of “knowing very well how to kill” during a heated debate at the World Economic Forum.

President Shimon Peres had launched a fiery defense of his country’s offensive in Gaza over the past month, and with a raised voice and pointed finger, questioned what Erdogan would do if rockets were fired at Istanbul every night.

“When it comes to killing, you know very well how to kill,” Erdogan, visibly angry, responded as he sat next to Peres at the debate, which also included United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Arab League chief Amr Moussa. He then walked out of the room.

Turkey, a predominantly Muslim but secular country that historically has had good ties with Israel and the Arab world, played a role in helping broker an end to the Gaza offensive, particularly by lobbying the Islamist Hamas group to declare a ceasefire.

Erdogan receives hero’s welcome

Fri, 30 Jan 2009 11:25:27 GMT

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan speaks to reporters after he receives a hero’s welcome for a spat with Israel.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan receives a hero’s welcome on his return home after his spat with Israel over its war on Gaza.

Erdogan stormed off stage at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos on Thursday during a heated discussion over Israel’s 23-day assault on the Gaza Strip.

He told Israeli President Shimon Peres, who had launched a fiery defense of Tel Aviv’s attack on the coastal enclave over the past month, that Israel “knows very well how to kill”.

More than 1,330 Palestinians, a third of them children, were killed and 5,450 others injured since Israel waged its Cast Lead Operation against Gaza on December 27.

The Turkish premier vowed he would never return to the annual gathering of the rich and powerful in Davos.

Around 3,000 supporters gathered at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport on Friday, waving red and white Turkish flags and banners reading “Conqueror of Davos” upon Erdogan arrival.

Palestine Think Tank pride: Erdogan at World Economic Forum cites our editor Gilad Atzmon

Mary Rizzo, Palestine Think Tank

Jan 30, 2009

The World Economic Forum at Davos had an incredible moment of truth… After Shimon Peres was allowed to justify the wanton killing that the Jewish State engaged in over the territory they have strangled with their inhumane blockade, (and received applause for it by the men and women waiting for their champaign glasses to be filled after the dinner that of course was more important to them than hearing the words of the Prime Minister of the largest European State with a Muslim majority and one of the most strategic areas on the face of the earth), Tayyip Erdogan begins to respond to the barrage of filth poured out by Peres.

At the moment, our Turkish translators in www.tlaxcala.es are getting a verbatim translation of the intervention, which we will post up here as soon as it is available, but in the meantime,

Here is a translation found here: http://video.aol.com/video-detail/turkish-prime-minister-erdogan-leaves-the-debate-in-davos-translation/3833761515/?icid=VIDURVNWS06

Davos – Erdogan vs. Peres

Webmaster’s Commentary:

Translation of Erdogan:
One minute! One minute! Mr.Peres, you’re older than me. Your voice is coming too loud. I know that the reason of your voice’s coming this loud is a guiltiness psychology. My voice won’t come this loud, know that so. When it comes to kill, you know how to kill very well. I know how you shot, how you killed the children on plages, very well. Two people who had been prime minister in your country made important statements to me. You have prime ministers who said that “When i get in to Palestine on tanks, i feel myself a different kind of happy.” And you’re giving me numbers. I can give you names. You may be wonder. I also condemn who acclaims to this grimness. Because i suppose acclaiming the people who killed those children, those people, is another humanity crime. Look, we can not edge out a reality here. I keep a lot of notes here, but i don’t have a chance to reply all here. But i only say two words from here. First, – Please don’t interrupt me!
First, The Torah says in the sixth topic that “You are not going to kill!”. There is killing here.
This is also interesting too – Gilad Atzmon: Israel barbarism is on the further side of fiendishness – a Jewish. Oxford University International Communications Proffessor who is soldiering in Israil army, Avi Shalom give a talk to the English newspaper Guardian that – (The Davos moderator wants to interrupt Erdogan) I thank you too. From now on Davos is done to me. I don’t come Davos again. Know that so! You don’t let me talk. He talked about 25 minutes, you gave me 12 minutes.

Peres says Israel kills for ‘democracy’

Peres says Israel kills for ‘democracy’

Fri, 30 Jan 2009 16:41:58 GMT

President Shimon Peres insists Israel is a “democracy” fighting a noble war against “terroristic” Palestinians.

Israeli President Shimon Peres says the war on Gaza was not “an ugly story”, insisting that the global condemnation of Tel Aviv is unjust.

“They try to make the Israeli policy an ugly story,” a frustrated Peres was quoted by the Associated Press at a session of the World Economic Forum on Thursday night.

He explained that his outburst was the result of repeated criticism over Israel’s Gaza operation.

Tel Aviv launched Operation Cast Lead on December 27 to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israeli towns. At least 1,330 Palestinians died during the offensive, while some 5,450 others were hospitalized.

The Israeli army, meanwhile, is accused of committing war crimes and using unconventional weapons during its three-week-long aggression.

The UN Human Rights Watch has confirmed that it has observed the use of white phosphorus by the Israeli military in the densely populated strip.

White phosphorus, classified as a ‘chemical weapon’ by US intelligence, is an incendiary material that causes horrific burns, severe injuries or death when it comes in contact with human skin.

The Israeli president, however, maintains that Tel Aviv is fighting a noble war against Hamas — the democratically-elected ruler of the Gaza Strip.

“Israel is a democracy. It is fighting one of the most dangerous, terroristic, dictatorial groups. All of a sudden to be a humanitarian is to support dictators, to support terror, to support killing innocent people,” he said at the forum.

Meanwhile, UK aid agencies say as a result of the Israeli operation in the beleaguered coastal sliver, at least 60 percent of the Gaza population is now living in poverty, with more than one million people dependant on aid to survive.

An angry exchange between President Peres and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had forced the latter to storm off the stage at the World Economic Forum.

Erdogan had become incensed after the moderator curtailed his response to Peres’ angry remarks regarding the recent Israeli military campaign.

The Turkish premier has vowed never to return to the annual gathering.

TEL-AVIV, January 30 (RIA Novosti) – Israeli troops will continue pinpoint strikes on militant groups and their infrastructure in Gaza despite truce, the Haaretz newspaper said on Friday.

The Security Cabinet and top Israeli defense officials agreed to continue targeted strikes against Hamas during consultations to discuss intensified rocket shelling and attacks on Israeli military.

Ten Palestinians were injured on Thursday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a Hamas operative in southern Gaza. Palestinian militants launched two Qassam rockets and a mortar round into Israel in response, which caused no casualties or damage.

For first time, U.S. professors call for academic and cultural boycott of Israel

By Raphael Ahren
In the wake of Operation Cast Lead, a group of American university professors has for the first time launched a national campaign calling for an academic and cultural boycott of Israel.

While Israeli academics have grown used to such news from Great Britain, where anti-Israel groups several times attempted to establish academic boycotts, the formation of the United States movement marks the first time that a national academic boycott movement has come out of America. Israeli professors are not sure yet how big of an impact the one-week-old movement will have, but started discussing the significance of and possible counteractions against the campaign.

“As educators of conscience, we have been unable to stand by and watch in silence Israel’s indiscriminate assault on the Gaza Strip and its educational institutions,” the U.S. Campaign for the Academic & Cultural Boycott of Israel stated in its inaugural press release last Thursday. Speaking in its mission statement of the “censorship and silencing of the Palestine question in U.S. universities, as well as U.S. society at large,” the group follows the usual pattern of such boycotts, calling for “non-violent punitive measures” against Israel, such as the implementation of divestment initiatives, “similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era.”

This is the Bishop that Pope Benny has rehabilitated back into the church, leading to Israel’s denunciation of the Vatican.
