Anak laki-laki dikhitan di Indonesia sudah biasa dipestakan. Bahkan ada yang mengadakan pesta besar-besaran, tak terkecuali dari keluarga yang tak mampu. Padahal Islam tak pernah memerintahkan pesta besar-besaran itu. Tetapi disini saya tidak menyoroti tentang boleh tidaknya pesta besar-besaran dalam khitanan itu, yang saya soroti adalah masalah si empunya pesta yang tidak jarang mengundang musik dangdut dan menampilkan penyanyi-penyanyi perempuan yang seronok.
Sudah sejak lama sebenarnya di perkampungan (di pinggir kota)atau di desa-desa, setiap keluarga yang mengadakan pesta pernikahan bahkan hanya khitanan pun mereka mengadakan pesta dengan mengundang musik dangdut. Sepertinya kalau hajatan ada hiburan dangdutnya atau band-nya atau gambusnya, itu si empunya hajat merasa dirinya sudah bisa dikatakan orang mampu atau orang sukses (wallohu a’lam). Mungkin itu dulu, boleh merasa demikian. Tetapi saat ini orang kaya atau bukan, orang sukses atau tidak, yang namanya mengundang musik dangdut dengan penyanyi yang mengumbar goyangan vulgar pada saat pesta pernikahan atau khitananitu sepertinya harus ada walau kalau diukur dari kemampuan ekonominya, sebenarnya adalah dipaksakan untuk menampilkan hiburan maksiat itu. It’s the oldest trick in the book, dating back to Roman times; creating the enemies you need.
In 70 BC, an ambitious minor politician and extremely wealthy man, Marcus Licinius Crassus, wanted to rule Rome. Just to give you an idea of what sort of man Crassus really was, he is credited with invention of the fire brigade. But in Crassus’ version, his fire-fighting slaves would race to the scene of a burning building whereupon Crassus would offer to buy it on the spot for a tiny fraction of it’s worth. If the owner sold, Crassus’ slaves would put out the fire. If the owner refused to sell, Crassus allowed the building to burn to the ground. By means of this device, Crassus eventually came to be the largest single private land holder in Rome, and used some of his wealth to help back Julius Caesar against Cicero.
In 70 BC Rome was still a Republic, which placed very strict limits on what Rulers could do, and more importantly NOT do. But Crassus had no intentions of enduring such limits to his personal power, and contrived a plan.Crassus seized upon the slave revolt led by Spartacus in order to strike terror into the hearts of Rome, whose garrison Spartacus had already defeated in battle. But Spartacus had no intention of marching on Rome itself, a move he knew to be suicidal. Spartacus and his band wanted nothing to do with the Roman empire and had planned from the start merely to loot enough money from their former owners in the Italian countryside to hire a mercenary fleet in which to sail to freedom. Remember Michael Scheuer? He’s the former CIA analyst who penned an anonymous book called “Imperial Hubris” attacking the Bush administration’s approach to terrorism. When we last saw him, in November, he was explaining to Tim Russert that American support for Israel is to blame for anti-American terrorism, and that Osama bin Laden is “in many ways . . . an admirable man.”

I cannot confirm or deny the incidents of the meetings with our President, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, as described by Stephen Lewis (I Too Accuse Him Of Crimes Against Humanity – July 28). I, as an ambassador, don’t have the other story from the President’s or the Foreign Minister’s side. It also really astonishes me to find that someone such as Mr. Lewis, who was a high representative of the UN, can give himself all the jurisdictions of a prosecutor and a judge in the case of Mr. al-Bashir. One should ask Mr. Lewis: Does your article itself not constitute a violation of a basic principle of human rights that a person is innocent until proven guilty?
Mr. al-Bashir’s defenders, and they are many, are repeating what Jesus said: “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” Some refer to the crimes committed against humanity in the recent history, some to the colonial time, and others to the genocide against the first nations. Although justice is indispensable for all, it is also indivisible.
Even the annexations of Darfur (carried out by the British between 1874 and 1917) and southern Sudan (between 1874 and 1896) were resisted vigorously, with thousands of Darfurians and southern Sudanese dying in that resistance.

On 9:30 pm on the same day an IED were setup and exploded on an American patrol, led by Allah grace destroying American Hummer completely, killing and wounding all Cross soldiers on board (unknown number).
On 11 pm on the same day an IED were exploded on American Hummer (third one) and by Allah grace it was damaged wounding all occupation soldiers on board (severely wounds).

Mourners to protest murder of 10 year old boy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A mass demonstration is planned on Wednesday for the funeral of Ahmed Husan Yousef Mousa, who was shot dead by Israeli forces at approximately 6:00pm today.
The funeral procession and protest will start at Ramallah Hospital at 10am and make it’s way to Ni’lin, the village where Ahmed lived. People will meet at the hospital at 9:30am
Ni’lin is currently under siege with the main entrance to the village sealed off by the Israeli military. The mourners intend to defy the military blockade and bring Ahmed home.
“He was a young boy playing with his friends. How could he threaten the soldiers?” he said. “They’re just kids who saw a march against the fence and joined in. To come back dead and without a head shows the cruelty of the soldiers.”
But why kill the kid?
Mussa’s 10-year-old friends said they were trying to remove barbed wire placed by the army when a jeep arrived and forces started to fire.
Simple enough explanation…
“Suddenly, we saw the martyr falling and one bullet in his head,” said Mussa’s friend Ahmed Saadat. He admitted that the children then started hurling stones at the forces, with one of them hitting a police officer in the head.

A 10-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli gunfire following clashes between troops and protesters demonstrating against the West Bank barrier yesterday.
