Mumbai Attackers “White Foreigners,” “Neatly Dressed” with “Blonde” and “Punkish” Hair

Policeman and onlookers tell an unheard tale
Chris | InformationLiberation

One police officer who encountered the gunmen as they entered the Jewish centre told the Guardian the attackers were “white”, although this could mean they were paler-skinned Indians from the country’s north. (Or it could mean they were actually white, as the police officer himself said. – IL)

“I went into the building late last night,” he said. “I got a shock because they were white. I was expecting them to look like us. They fired three shots. I fired 10 back.

Dance with the devil and you will get burnt

Mumbai and the Anglo-American-Israeli connection

By Muhammad al-Arabi

1 December 2008

Muhammad al-Arabi argues that the clue to the motive for the attack on Mumbai lies in India’s increasingly close relations with Israel and its identification with Anglo-American policies in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan.

At long last, the Mumbai horror show that we have been witnessing on our television screens for the past two days is over. So far, the death toll is 195 people, most of them innocent civilians.

We are still no wiser about the identity or motives of the gunmen responsible for this outrage. Predictably, the Indian government has seized the opportunity to blame Pakistan without having a shred of evidence to back its claim. Read the rest of this entry »

Search for Mumbai gunman’s roots only deepens mystery

Posted on Monday, December 1, 2008

FARIDKOT, Pakistan — For the past three days Pakistani intelligence agents and police have been combing this sleepy village in search of clues to the identity of the lone gunman captured in the Mumbai terror attacks, residents said on Monday.

Indian officials and news media officials identified him variously as Ajmal Amir Kamal, Azam Amir Kasav, or Azam Ameer Qasab, and Indian news media quoted police as saying that the alleged killer’s home village was in Faridkot, near the city of Multan in the southern part of Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Local residents, however, are bewildered and alarmed. They said there was no one of that surname in this village, and no missing resident who fit the pictures and description shown in the Indian news media. Read the rest of this entry »

Pak TV channel says 26/11 hatched by Hindu Zionists

2 Dec 2008, 2216 hrs IST, TNN

NEW DELHI: Mumbai’s 26/11 was actually a plan hatched by “Hindu Zionists” and “Western Zionists”, including the Mossad, said a self-styled on a Pakistan news television show, uploaded on http://www.hotklix.com.

Inki shaklein Hinduonwali hain, jis zabaan mein guftagoo kar rahein hain, woh zabaan koi Pakistani istemaal nahin karta hai (They look like Hindus. No Pakistani speaks the language they chatted in),” said Zaid Hamid while referring to the terrorists on the show Mujhe Ikhtilaf Hai (I differ) on Pakistan’s News One channel. The sensationalist channel was launched in November last year.

Hamid said that it was a “badly planned” operation that had gone horribly wrong. “9/11 jo Americans ne kiya tha usko bahut khoobsurat camouflage kiya tha. Unhone media mein perception management bahut acchha kiya . Indians ne wahi game repeat karne ki koshish ki, lekin akal to hai nahin . In ahmakon ne complete disaster kiya isko handle karne mein . (The Americans executed the 9/11 attack perfectly. They managed the media very well. The Indians tried to repeat the formula but goofed up. The idiots made a complete mess of it).

Mumbai Bloodbath: A Statement by Concerned Citizens of India and Pakistan

Concerned Citizens of India and Pakistan

December 2, 2008

This Joint Statement was released to the press simultaneously in Pakistan and India on November 30 2008.

We are deeply shocked and horrified at the bloody mayhem in Mumbai, which has claimed more than a hundred and ninty lives and caused grievous injuries to several hundred people, besides sending a wave of panic and terror across South Asia and beyond. We convey our profound feelings of sorrow and sympathies to the grieving families of the unfortunate victims of this heinous crime and express our solidarity with them.

As usual, all sorts of speculations are circulating about the identity of the perpetrators of this act of barbarism. The truth about who are directly involved in this brutal incident and who could be the culprits behind the scene is yet to come out and we do not wish to indulge in any guesswork or blame game at this point. However, one is intrigued at its timing. Can it be termed a coincidence that it has happened on the day the Home Secretaries of the two countries concluded their talks in Islamabad and announced several concrete steps to move forward in the peace process, such as the opening of several land routes for trade – Kargil, Wagah-Attari, Khokhropar etc -, relaxation in the visa regime, a soft and liberal policy on the issue of release of prisoners and joint efforts to fight terrorism? Again, is it just a coincidence that on this fateful day the Foreign Minister of Pakistan was in the Indian capital holding very useful and productive talks with his Indian counterpart? One thing looks crystal clear. The enemies of peace and friendship between the two countries, whatever be the label under which they operate, are un-nerved by these healthy developments and are hell bent on torpedoing them. Mumbai Attacks: Piecing Together the Story

There is a torrent of information and analysis on the recent attacks in Mumbai, but much of the story is nowhere to be seen in the American mainstream media. Here’s a guide to what you might have missed:

What happened?

Saikat Datta of Outlook India writes that by mid-September, Indian agencies knew that the attack would come from the sea, and by mid-November they knew that the Taj hotel would be targeted. And yet the attacks still happened. A blow-by-blow account of how the plan to attack Mumbai by sea was hatched and executed.

“Armed police would not fire back — I wish I’d had a gun, not a camera.” Jerome Taylor talked to the photographer whose picture of one of the attackers went around the world for the Independent. “Sebastian D’Souza, a picture editor at the Mumbai Mirror, whose offices are just opposite the city’s Chhatrapati Shivaji station, heard the gunfire erupt and ran towards the terminus. ‘I ran into the first carriage of one of the trains on the platform to try and get a shot but couldn’t get a good angle, so I moved to the second carriage and waited for the gunmen to walk by,’ he said. ‘They were shooting from waist height and fired at anything that moved. I briefly had time to take a couple of frames using a telephoto lens. I think they saw me taking photographs but they didn’t seem to care.’ ” Read the rest of this entry »

Myth and Denial in the War Against Terrorism:
Just why do terrorists terrorize?

William Blum

December 2, 2008

The notion that terrorist acts against the United States can be explained by envy and irrational hatred, and not by what the United States does to the world — i.e., US foreign policy — has been written on the face of the Bush administration ever since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The fires were still burning at Ground Zero in New York when Secretary of State Colin Powell declared: “Once again, we see terrorism, we see terrorists, people who don’t believe in democracy.”{1}

President Bush picked up on that theme and ran with it. He’s been its leading proponent with his repeated insistence, in one wording or another, that terrorists are people who hate America and all that it stands for, its democracy, its freedom, its wealth, its secular government. (Ironically, the president and his first Attorney General, John Ashcroft, probably hate America’s secular government as much as anyone.)

Here is the president more than a year after September 11: “The threats we face are global terrorist attacks. That’s the threat. And the more you love freedom, the more likely it is you’ll be attacked.”{2}

Armed Israeli settlers attack Palestinians , insult Islam

IMEMC Staff

Tuesday December 02, 2008

Scores of armed Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah, on Tuesday, attacked Palestinian-owned houses and properties in the Yetma , Qeblan and Assawiya villages.

Witnesses said that the armed Israeli settlers attacked the Yetma and Qeblan villages, attacking properties and damaging more than 20 cars, as well as many livestock fodders. In the Assawiya village in southern Nablus, the settlers drew anti-Islam slogans on the viollage’s walls. Palestinian witness, Hekmat Abu Ras, told media outlets that the villagers woke up early today to find out that the armed settlers were attacking their village and that anti-Muslim slogans, including insults to the prophet Mohammad, drawn on the village’s mosque.

Abu Ras confirmed that this village has been repeatedly attacked by the armed settlers, as the village is surrounded by three large illegal settlements of Eliei, Rachel and Chilo. In the Ramallah city, villagers of the Senjel and Tarmsiya villages in northern Ramallah, were shocked after observing anti-Islam slogans, written in Hebrew, on the village’s mosque floor and walls. For the past few weeks, assaults by armed Israeli settlers against Palestinian residents in different parts of the occupied West Bank have been intensifying. Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, had earlier stated that such attacks only damage Israel’s image on the International stage.

Reduce VIP security and interrogate survivors, please
Sandhya Jain

01 Dec 2008

While stock-taking has only just begun, it already appears as if some things are being covered up. In these circumstances, the retention of Narayanan who was invisible during the entire crisis though he was too visible in the hated Indo-US nuclear deal does nothing to inspire confidence. In an atmosphere when media hype persistently reminds us of the Twin Towers tragedy in New York, one can only think of the success of Prince Bandar in escorting all well-connected Saudi youth out of America in the immediate aftermath of 11 September 2001.

Some things deserve an immediate answer – how many terrorists were there actually; how did they reach their respective destinations inland; and is it possible that “super-terrorists” simply walked out with the real survivors after having utilised the “mercenaries” to the hilt, just as they had murdered the navigators of the boats that brought them to Mumbai?
